I fixed a lot of things that I didn't like, shuffled some foes around, and made a few jumps easier or tried to make them more clear. I also added a tanooki suit.

The thread's working fine. Its just that these projects take a while.

...A long while. I think RMN World took half a year from the submissions closing to it getting released. And that was with the five of us working together. This time its just Hali. So quadruple that.

Visual Novel Night had some pretty awkward sounds. >.<;

I don't think it's a good idea to make some flowers effectively "cost" power-ups. As in, you shouldn't require a power-up to get the flower. Similarly to what AnimeBryan was doing in the video, it'd require that a player constantly just kill themselves to restart the level if they are going after flowers, probably the most logical and sensical "what if" scenario I've considered so far, since it's already happening in the videos to provide examples. Mainly, these are stars at risk, and lives don't mean much, but surely punishing the player in this fashion is wrong.

I should first preface that I'm perfectly happy to remove the blocks, and the laundry list of other changes I'm gonna get from halibabica (along with some I'm already in the process of making), but I don't really understand how requiring powerups to get something that is ultimately optional is bad?

I know that one of the goals of the game is to get all of the flowers but as I understand it you don't need to do so to beat the game: just to unlock all the bonus content. When I designed the level it was with that in mind. Ideally, I would rather have it so that the flowers stay collected when you get them rather than get them all in one go. Figuring out how to midpoint the level was really hard because of that.

But I think having only one flower before the midpoint was alright. Especially because I figured most players will be coming into the stage with some kind of powerup (or could just go nab one from another level if they're savvy). The first two ? Blocks have leaves in them, so it is totally possible to just tank a hit if you need to and get there without too much hassle.

The difficulty is too extreme, even for a world 8 level.

Originally I included a way to skip over the level (go through the front door with a black Yoshi) but I thought it would be enough hassle grabbing the one on the roof and going back through the level as going through the stage normally. Do you think I should put in the option to skip?

I humbly disagree! Four can suffice when three do not deliver the proper impact!

And naught else, then yes, only three.
