JASONFARKAS'S PROFILE

Just arrived on the indie rpg scene about a week ago after being referred here to download the Chrono Alter game. Hated the game but love the site, which introduced me to a game called The Way and inspired me to create an RPG of my own based on a fanfic I was writing. Shameless plugs follow

That is the start of a trilogy I have planned, though both it and the second story are half-way finished (I am apparently worse than George Lucas when it comes to releasing things in chronological order lol)

Anyway, I hope to work with community members to make everyone's game better through group effort.

New midi composition

I second the opinion that the epic battle is reminiscent of the early SNES battle musics, however how epic of a battle can you have in a 1 minute and 4 seconds?(unless it is suppose to be looped, if so then ignore that comment).

I like the rock joy best of all though, I might use it as I plan on having a character that is kinda all about the rock and roll, could be his theme song or something.

[Critique] My Game's Story...so far.

The premise does sound interesting, however there was one thing that bugs me.

The act of putting on this ring not only grants you your dream, but also bonds the wearer and the ring together: for as long as the wearer is alive, the ring's pact can't be broken.

To summarize, many years ago the last person to hold the ring threw it up from a floating isle, after it cost him his life, and everyone he ever loved.

How exactly did he throw it away if the ring and the one who wears it are in a pact that cannot be broken? Or maybe it isn't a physical pact, like I am assuming it is, but rather one where after you put the ring on the first time you can take it off/put it on as much as you want. Or something like that. Anyway, just something I noticed and thought I would point it out(hopefully for the betterment of the story)

What are you thinking about right now?

Lucky Star was funny as hell! Though I too suffer from watching an entire series in one go, watched Welcome to NHK in like 2 days.

I don't understand any of what was just said.

Also, I am pondering ceasing my community efforts here since they are really detrimental to the development of the site. Kind of like an anchor that is keeping itself wedged firmly in the past.

Though I haven't been frequenting RMN as long as some have I would be sad to see you stop contributing. The fact that you even do a podcast, SNEWS, and such in the first place is a good thing! If someone wants to do articles and stuff on gameplay and presentation then that's cool too, but I think your contributions help the community and add... I don't know, a kind of flavor or something, a uniqueness maybe. But add something it does! Keep at it Kentona!!

is there a party going on i don't know about ??

There's always a party here! (an adventuring party that is! hardy har har)

RM RPGs...you have beaten

I've beat "The Way" and Ascendance, though I'm not sure if you could call it beaten since it's not really out in finished form but hey, I'll take what I can get.

Working on:
Dhux's Scar
Cast Aside
Vacant SkyA

Events and triggers

ahhh it was something sitting right in front of my face! Defeated by things that can hide-in-plane sight yet again. That was exactly what I was looking for, thanks a bunch Darken!

Edit:
Hmm, my monster does not appear to move with the autonomous movement set. I'll keep poking it with a stick and see if I can't figure out why.

Edit #2
Started a new project to see if maybe something I'd done in the script editor was affecting it. It worked in the new project so I suppose that is indeed the case. Time to go script hunting.

Events and triggers

Okay I am sure there is an insanely easy answer to this question as I've seen alot of other game implement it, but I can't for the life of my figure out how to get my event to both move around the map, as an enemy, and then respond to a player touch event to start a battle. I could do this through the script editor but I am trying to leave this part of the game, placing enemies and what not, to the events(mainly so I have a interface to work with instead of lines of code). I'm using rpgmaker XP btw. Thanks for the help in advance!
