When forming "man-made" objects like building interiors and exteriors, try to make them realistic in dimensions and placement. Same goes for trails and other man-made items.
When it comes to trees/plants, water, there needs to be randomness in an orderly way. If you want it to look more realistic, simply have two different types of trees that don't clash (like a tall narrow with a tall fat tree for example.) When you use only one tree sprite and line it up, as Sana said, it looks organized. If you look at nature in real life it is pretty erratic.
TIP ON "TALL" BUILDINGS:
Think in terms of individual floors. Each floor should only be 2-3 tiles tall before you start putting roof tiles. (if you are using tall sprites, use 3 tiles, short sprites, 2 tiles then the roof tile.) Spread the building out as much as needed to make your second floor. The trick with separating the second floor from the first, is having some roof tiles between. If you are not sure what I am talking about, you can look at the screen shots of my game Realm of Luna and you should see an example or two.

I would consider trying to make maps like this more realistic in terms of item placement.
For example, would you place a bed directly in front of a doorway in a real house? For that matter, do you put your bedroom in with the storage room? The book on the floor looks out of place, even if the intention is to make it look messy, it just looks out of place.
The leaves look very out of place, your entrance to the bed/storage room is one tile shorter then the back walls, and you should have 3 dark tiles bordering around the edges of all your maps (at least), to give it a less crowded/out of place feel.
Just some recommendations!
