KASHIRA'S PROFILE

I am a college student who is currently studying criminal psychology (yes, I know, a far cry from game development, but it is the only interesting course my college offered.) However, I find game design far more fun and interesting than my classes. Honestly, I am no more and no less interesting than anyone else- I adore Roman history, video games, herbalism, cats, mythology of all sorts, philosophy and many other random, unconnected things.

Any and all games I work on will have a strong emphasis on story, character development and world lore. This is because I enjoy writing quite a bit, I think a good RPG should have a detailed plot and world- and because even small details add depth. I am not saying that gameplay and battles are unimportant or that they will take a backseat to everything else; simply that my main focus is creating interesting plots, "living" characters and worlds.

Spira Mirabilis

I am very glad to hear it and I apologize for the delay! I'm planning on having the alpha demo finished by next week, actually- and after my testers are done, I will be hosting the demo here very soon~

Updated character art. (Yes, I have decided to use the Fantasy and Dark Fantasy Hero Packs.)

DemiHumans.png

Fixed the issue with the text being stuck on one side of the text box. That was sort of interesting to do, given how simple it was to fix.

UglyGoblins.png

It did end up looking strange, I know. There's a few things I'm looking at that may have caused the weird formatting- but as soon as I figure out what went wrong, it will be fixed and screenshots will be updated.

Purple is just one of the many colors of non-green trees that will be seen. They are not magical or anything of the sort; they are simply being used to add interest to the maps.

Even in a world where magic is very rare, there are still people who are superstitious.

Suikoden Series on PSN

No, Viktor didn't need the Star Dragon Sword any more, but knowing that it was an incarnation of the Night Rune (no, they did not get along whatsoever- pure comedy gold happened in their interactions) but still, the way it was handed over to Edge (yes, there were the vampires, but that's besides the point) seemed a little cheap to me.

And don't forget what they decided to have Yuber wear instead of his characteristic armor! I have no idea what they were thinking by not including Pesmerga, considering that he was supposed to be pursuing Yuber so the two could fight/kill each other.

I am one of those who did not like the battle system at all, as well.

I do agree with just about everything else you've said, though, especially in regard to the races- I'd have been happier seeing the flying squirrels' race being given attention, than the ducks just showing up. Plus yes, the Kobolds were aborable and had extremely cute attitudes. (Plus, indeed! Staves or another blunt weapon are sort of Suikoden's thing when it comes to the main protagonists' weapons.)

The whole being able to "choose the protagonist" thing just seemed gimmicky to me.

So in short, no, I did not like 3 at all.

But 4? Haha, I could write a book about all the things about it I didn't like.

Suikoden Series on PSN

I really like that the Suikoden Series is gaining popularity again~! Two is by far my favorite, the plot is outstanding and the main characters are great! (I might be odd for saying it, but Viktor and the Star Dragon Sword are my two favorite characters and Luca was great!)

Unfortunately, yes, the original writer did leave after 3. (3 and 4 aren't all that great in my opinion and I still don't think Viktor should have been as willing to hand over the Star Dragon Sword as he was.) but 5 is pretty good, too. So, if I was to recommend any in the series to play, it would be 1, 2 and 5. Honestly, if/when we ever see a 6, my hopes for it aren't very high.

Does anyone like Dragon Quest?

I adore the original Dragon Warrior series, with 3 being my absolute favorite. Monsters 1 and 2 were pretty fun as well (the breeding system was great!) However, I could not stand DQ8 (I played it for a few days before quitting and never picking it back up again) and from what I've read and seen of DQ9, I do not like the direction it was taken in whatsoever. I did not care for Caravan Heart or Joker, either.

It might be a bit odd, but I did have fun playing Rocket Slime and Torneko's Adventure as well.
