RMTool crashes when scanning my project?
^ Thanks, that was it in the end. Some empty 'New Folders' seemed to have cropped up at some point. Everything worked after that - thank you.
RMTool crashes when scanning my project?
As the title says. Not sure why this is. I've tried scanning other projects - i.e. games that I've downloaded, or other games I've started making and abandonned, and they scan in just fine.
As for my current game, RMTool starts scanning, then stops with "Graphics" at "101%"(?), then crashes. Really not sure how to go about pinpointing the problem here. Thanks a lot to anyone who can help out!

Optimal stats for a smooth/balanced Battle system? [RM2k3]
Hey all. I tried searching for a tutorial on this but there doesn't seem to be one, so I thought I'd ask. I know RM2k3's DBS is rubbish when it comes to stats and balancing, but does anyone have any good advice on how to make the best of it? Mainly agility (to keep the DBS from going at a crawl... which, I know, is kind of inevitable, but again, give me whatever you've done to make the best of it), but also magic and the power of spells growing as the character levels.
For Agility, I have my heroes at a range of 30-40 and same for enemies. It's not bad, but I'm just wondering if there's any way to get it to go faster/smoother.
As for spells, a basic Fire spell for example is set to base power 80, and I jacked up the intelligence variance. I sent my mage in to a battle at level 11 (the level you get her), and she was doing about 80-100 damage, then again at level 30 and she was only doing around 100-130 damage (and sometimes it'd randomly dip back to 80...?). Yeah, I dunno, this is beyond me, and so I've come to seek your expertise!

Hello all,
I have a minor problem in the cutscenes I've made for my RM2k3 game, and I feel like there's a rather simple solution but it isn't coming to mind. Basically, in my cut-scenes, whenever someone isn't talking (i.e., there's some action going on or there's a pause in the conversation), I've realized that I can move my hero around, when he's obviously supposed to be controlled by the events in the cut-scene rather than by the player at this point.
I always thought the Halt All Movement command was the solution for this, but it's doing nothing (What IS it for, then?). Anyway, any help on this matter would be appreciated! Thanks.

Help! My RM2K3 game got screwed up?
Hi there,
I'm really not sure what's happened, but upon opening my RPG Maker 2003 program today, the game I was working on is ... seriously screwed up. Transparency on everything has stopped working, as if all the things I imported are no longer functioning. All the changes I've made to the database in the past month or so are gone, same with any map changes/animations/events/anything. Basically all of a month's progress on my game got wiped, and I have no idea why this is, but am understandably freaking out o___o;
I'm running Windows 7 if that's a factor, but I've never had this issue before so... Please help!

To be honest, I'm glad you got rid of Thanatos. I wasn't really feeling him as a character, and one of the things I loved most about the Demon Legacy cast was how 'rag-tag' they seemed - I mean really, they were such an odd group. Nero's fine, Lillith is - stretching it, but she's okay, and Thanatos just kind of seemed forced - the whole mad alchemist shut in whose reason for joining you I can't even remember to be honest (but it has been a while since I played the demo).
Anyway, As it was, I just couldn't imagine the three of them traveling together or having any particularly interesting scenes, and I certainly didn't see myself getting attached to Thanatos. Granted, this is just one huge first impression, so I may have been wrong, but that's neither here nor there now. I really hope this new character brings some charm to the group. I'm really liking his battle mechanics so far. The rest of what was in the video seems super polished and awesome though, absolutely can't wait for the demo, or at least some more frequent updates :)

Phantom Legacy (Part 1)
Just got to the end of the demo :) Love love love it so far, and honestly can't wait for its completion. Please tell me this game is still being worked on! I'll submit a review sometime soon.
I was ecstatic to hear the name of the seer they're going to visit... It better be who I think it is or some murdering will have to happen :D
