Working in teams: Yay or nay?
Working on a team has been a great benefit for me. Having someone to talk to really helps you find problems with things or discover better ways to go about stuff, even if the person doesn't respond too much, it's still helpful to just get it out.
Personally, I haven't gotten to the point where I depend on another team member, but that's because I haven't gotten far enough into my project to need that kind of help.
Although, I think people should wait until they have a good grasp of what they're doing before they get involved with teams, as a team full of newbies would end horribly.

post=tardispost=Lennon... this would be a perfect opportunity to post a Neo Lescia screenshot, bro
I don't know where to get an example, but the chipset is from Treasure Of The Rudras. I'm sure you can find something if you look around.
I actually haven't even used the castle stuff yet. Well, besides the government building and...

I have no idea how I didn't think of that. I hope this helps you, as it's basically the same chipset, without ramparts.

The Great Switch: Why VXP is Better
I would have accepted the fact that he had posted this twice and went way overboard with his point if I had actually, you know, said something stupid. As you can plainly see, all I did was say that people should use whatever engine they want and, I dunno... Finish their games?
Really, posting this twice just proves my point about how you enjoy stirring shit up.

Valkyrie Stories - Escallion Rising
I officially cannot this. Although, I'd like a better story synopsis, cause I really don't want to read all that. Just have a small paragraph that gets to the point.
Three Questions About RPG Maker 2000/3
I could see how engines would matter in a more technical type of game, like and action or FPS or something, but for 2D RPGs the only difference I can see is the graphics. It's not like using something else allows a better story, and it would only change gameplay if you have a really technical battle system or something.
I would just rather people use what they feel like using, what they're good with/accustomed to. This community has enough problems with not finishing shit as it is, we don't people going "should I really start over because this guy told me to?"

Speaking of bullet hell, I also propose that any level with a wall of bullet bills be removed from this. That isn't a challenge. It's a fuck you.
It's saying, congradulations for getting this far, now you die, isn't that funny? Restart the level.
I didn't really mean to make kentona's stage seem this bad, if that's what you're referring to. He gave you fair warning of the Bonzai Bills, but the problem was that there were way too many of them at the end. You needed maximum jump height to get over them, and it was upsetting when I died and had to start all over again. (In fact, I didn't start over, I stopped playing.)
That's why I'm with Brick on this one, and I think any level like this should have a checkpoint.
