Looking to Make Pixel Art.

Just wanted to quickly drop in and ask anyone if they wanted some pixel art for their game. Basically, while my friend learns to code, I want to take some time and practice my pixel skills.

Right now I work with 16x16 tiles, but I do want to get practice with 32x32 tiles or maybe even upwards of that at some point. I've been working on some character templates, so it would be nice to get to use them as well. This is completely free, of course.

Any takers?

Idea for an event of sorts.

I've been thinking about this for a while, so I decided to quickly check in with the community to see if people would be down for it.

Basically, I want to do something similar to Ludum Dare here on RMN. The basic concept is the exact same, everybody gets two days to make a short game based on a theme selected by the participants. I didn't want to make it a contest of any kind, just something that would be done for fun.

I don't know if theres anything already on the go like this, although I realize that this is like a crossover between a "3-Hour" and a "Release Something! Day".

Need Some Basic CSS Help

This is laughably basic. All I want to do is change some of the colors on my gamepage to black, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Here's my CSS:
#body { background: #000000 url("http://rpgmaker.net/media/content/users/4854/locker/NLBackground.jpg") repeat-x !important;
}
#discussion div.message.even {
background: #96b6f6;
}
#discussion div.message.odd {
background: #6e8cca;
}
#game_frame { background: #96b6f6;
}
#contents { background: #c9dbff !important; }
#main_column { background: #d9e6ff !important; }
#game_frame { background: #c9dbff !important; }

/* CUSTOM LOGO CSS WHOA */

#game_header {

background-color: #2A449C;

}

#game_navigation {

margin-left:0px;

border-bottom:3px #000 solid;

height:auto;

}

#game_navigation .start {

}

#game_navigation li {

What I want to do is change the comments, "game frame" (With the screens/description and junk) and pretty much everything else besides the custom logo to black. I want the developers comments to be dark grey, and the text to be white.

You can see that I'm dumber than a bag of stupid people when it comes to CSS.

Help Finding Monster Sprites.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has the link to the site where these sprites are hosted:

I only have the 7 or 8 that I was using as avatars, and I'd like the whole set for a project I'm working on. Any help?

Event Achievements

I was recently reminded of this, although I had thought of bringing it up earlier. After I saw the Game Chill/Game Gale achievements for the first time, I looked around to try and see what you could get achievements for. However it kind of irked me when Only Game Gale, Game Chill and the Halloween contest participants were given achievements.

It just seemed odd to me that Befuddle Quest/RMN Bros weren't given achievements as well. I mean, shouldn't achievements be across the board for events? I know the ones I mentioned are judged and everything, but even the people that didn't win were given achievements for being there. I don'r really think it makes sense to have some events that just don't have achievements.

Also yes, I know achievements are essentially pointless, but still.

Can't save with Resource Hacker.

As the title states, I am having a problem saving my RPG_RT file using resource hacker. I've experienced this on both Vista and Windows 7. I'm trying to change my EXFONT at the moment, but I can't save it at all. I get this error all the time:

I'm using a 16 color bitmap, I don't know if that's a problem. I've gotten the error trying to edit the status screen dialogue in the past as well.

Sounds not playing in RM2k3.

The title sums it up pretty well. None of the sound effects I'm using are playing in RM2k3. Right now I'm only using default SFX, and yes, the volume is up before anyone says that.

I'm thinking it has to do with this Harmony.dll thing I hear about every now and then, but I'm not totally sure.

Where to find the Goliath Patch?

Just a quick question, does anyone have a link to the Goliath Patch? The link on GamingWorld was the only one that I knew of, and it seems to be broken now. Any help?

RPG Maker 2003 not working on Windows 7

I recently decided that since I can't work with RPG Maker on my main computer, I'd start using my families laptops whenever I can, to at last get some work done on my project. Problem is, RM2k3 wont let me create projects on one of them. It works fine on one laptop (The one with Vista), but on the one with Windows 7 just brings up an error saying "Project creation could not be completed".

I know there's is a way around this, but I'm not exactly sure what it is. Any help?

Also, I can't just use the one with Vista, because it's NEVER around the house.

Bye

Yeah, I guess I'm leaving. For now.

I don't exactly know why, but I lost every bit of motivation and desire to make games around a week ago. I stopped frequenting the community, and put my most popular project on hiatus, eventually taking it off the visible part of the site.

I'm not going to blame one thing in particular, but I feel that every day the community and the point of making games gets more and more redundant and obscure. I feel that I dislike it more too. We discuss the same things over and over again, how nobody cares, why VX is so much better, all while people bicker and start arguments over this nonsense. It makes me want to just forget about releasing a game. In addition, I hardly feel an air of encouragement, it's always people telling others what to do, and why something sucks.

I'm not going to be gone forever... Maybe I'll comeback sometime in the future. Maybe not.
