Let's work on your game descriptions!

@ThatManOverThere: Your description describes the core mechanics of the game, but I'm not sure it describes much else about the story, features, plot and other elements in a sufficiently succinct manner. Plus, it has some grammar and spelling mistakes. For instance: what are Tricon? Who are the Summoners? Who are the Champions? I know that Summoners give out bits and items, but why would they? Champions give out rare Tricons why? Why did Amethyst Industrials sponsor the games? What are the dungeons you talk about? Why does this all happen? It's all very confusing, and no, it doesn't get the general idea across. But you can if you explain more.

I'll post my personal amended version of the current description, but I implore you to also include information about the characters, plotline, and other background miscellanea to fill people in on what's going on in that grand mind of yours.

Explore the 10th Annual Tricon International Tournament, fighting, collecting, and synthesizing your own Tricon, in order to defeat other Summoners and eventually the 12 Champions. Summoners give out bits (currency) and other items, while Champions give out rare Tricons, special moves, exclusive catalysts (devices used to contain Tricon) with special abilities attached (stat boosts, gradual healing, special moves, etc.). While the tournament goes on, its largest sponsor, Amethyst Industrials, seems to have sent out large numbers of vague, yet menacing, agents to search for something lost.
The player is able to fight the Champions in the order they choose, with the Champions' difficulty (and rewards) scaling with them.
The last 4 champions do not have a dungeon associated with them, as they are all at the grand arena, meaning that you also lose out on any items, money, or experience that you might have received prior to facing them.

I don't think you should talk about what you plan to do, but rather what you have already planned for the game. We need more information about the world, the Champions (who they even are), and we need less specifics about gameplay, because that will be stuff that you reveal in-game rather than on your gamepage.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

That Region ID thing is crazy. I never thought of it like that.

Heartache 101 ~Sour into Sweet~ Review

Speaking to Marrend: The existence of a Ring of Sleep intrigues me somewhat, but, as you said, I doubt it will influence my opinion of the game greatly. If the quality of the game depends on whether I find a particular item or not, then I think that's quite an arbitrary way of determining whether or not I have a good gameplay experience or not. It's a good factor to consider, though.

Speaking to Ratty524: I agree that the ability for players to customize their own experiences to share with others is a plus trait of the game. It would essentially make replay options much more tantalizing, and that put bonus points in the "originality" arena for me. But I was mostly judging the compulsory campaign, as I believe most players would only play that portion at first, and then move on to the custom content as some sort of additional material.

I hate to have a negative rubric, but a 2.5 score isn't a message to say the game is bad. It's merely average, and vastly improvable. I wasn't so much as bothered with the main character's pre-defined disposition as you, because I like the need for characterization in dating sims, and I was intrigued by the design of a board game controlling the randomized events of your social life, but the way it was implemented in my opinion could have used some vast improvements. My major turn-off was the clunkiness and disjointed feel of a lot of the scenarios, and its thorough over-length. If that is even a word.

The first level

I think Backwards_Cowboy has a point. But even still, I never knew before that it was good to design the first level last. unity's insights are poignant, especially coming from a place of experience. I'm going to say that I will create my last level first, which is my first, and then my first level last, which would also be my first. I have one level in my game.

Yeah the custom content could have made it better, but I decided not to judge it by its custom content, because that was made by other creators. That and I couldn't give a stuff playing the game all over again.

Thanks for commenting :)
