MAVERICK PHANTOM'S PROFILE

Doomed to live until the end of the omniverse, the Maverick Phantom Wanderer explores the various realms of the Dominion of Macoza, writing about his experiences and leaving behind notes for those who may travel the paths he took. Sometimes allowed to interact with his creator's plane of existence (he uses this time to post about his experiences and plot against the one who cursed him). Wants to be a game maker, but never manages to finish a single project- though this time may be different.

Avantasia The Game

I figured as much; I just wanted to make sure.

...

Not that anything could get past/harm the fortress I've set up on my computer.

Games like this make me want to actually stop being lazy long enough to make one of my own. (Though school work is currently providing a legitimate excuse.)

Avantasia The Game

This morning, Avira complained that the Game.exe file was some sort of backdoor. Though it may just be a false positive, I'm a still a bit suspicious, as none of the other Game.exe files from any of the 20+ other Rpg Maker XP games I have are triggering anything. When I downloaded the game again a few minutes ago (in case it was something on my computer infecting it) it did the same thing.

Anyway, I'll find out what's going on and report back.

Shepherd's Call: Revenge of the Genie

I think I missed something...
How exactly do you win the game (without cheating, that is)?
I mean, win or lose, I always get the game over screen.

RM RPGs...you have beaten

The list of games I have beaten so far:

The Life of Bob
Demon Legacy
The Way (all episodes)
The Legend of Silhoua
Blades of Heaven
Legion Saga I
The Legend of the Philosopher's Stone
Crimson Rune: Prologue
The New Earth
World in Danger
PTEI (Pokemon the Evil Inside 1 & 2)
Bakuenryu

there are others, but I have to check the other laptop to make sure.

Demon Legacy

No need to apologize to one such as myself; at least you managed to create a game worth playing (a feat I still struggle to accomplish, without success so far). I'll try to play the demo when I can. (I have a backlog of over 200 rpgs to play, not to mention my own game project to work on.) I peersonally didn't have a problem with the final boss, especially after playing Blades of Heaven (the name of the boss escapes me, but its evil- and cheapness- shall forever leave its scars upon my confidence.

- The Maverick Phantom,
who hopes that he can finally get the whole "advanced movement" concept working without any of the issues it currently has.

Demon Legacy

I just finished Demon Legacy two days ago. Very interesting game, though I have a few minor issues with it.

#1. When I fought the Harbinger (the first solo fight), I had to cheat, not to win the fight mind you, but to LOSE the fight (apparently Slade's level was too high to be killed by the Harbinger's attack). When I subsequently won the battle, I get this lame message and the game goes to the title screen. Why did I have to cheat to LOSE a fight.

#2. The game's ending disappoints (I wanted to beat Shadar), however; if there is a sequel in the works, this is forgiven.

#3. The game is way too easy (of course, this could just mean that my skills are far too advanced for this game).

#4. The game felt more like Demon Legacy, part 1 (see number 2). Is there a sequel, or will I have to make a "likely horrendous" fan game?

Game Title: Quest Quest- The Search for Adventure

Story:

The story of Quest Quest- The Search for Adventure centers around a young wanderer named Ryland. As an infant, he was rescued from certain death by Zephalion, Nonpareil of Lorelei. Zephalion, taking pity on the young Ryland, decides to raise Ryland as if he were his own son.
In early childhood, Ryland showed survival instincts and combat abilities that far surpassed those of almost anyone or anything Zephalion had ever known (save for himself and the other Paragons, of course). Ryland, if his powers continued to grow, were capable of potentially surpassing those of Zephalion, a fact that Zephalion, one of few who still believed surpassing one's mentors was equivalent to show them the highest of honors, took pride in.
It was on the 13th day of the 7th month of the year 1019 M.E. (The Mortal Era) that tragedy struck. Ryland, now 19 and well on his way to becoming a living legend, finally considers himself ready to tackle the legendary Spire of Nasmyth, one of the few ruins left behind by the Teras five centuries ago. Inside the Spire was said to exist a golem of unimaginable powers, and Ryland, wishing to prove himself to his mentor Zephalion (who had departed to parts unknown two years ago), wanted to face it in combat. After days of exploring the ruins and fighting the numerous fiends that resided within, he finally found the chamber in which the golem was said to be held- along with a demon determined to destroy it. Though the golem was indeed as strong as rumors and legends made it to be, the demon was stronger still. Soundly defeating the golem, the demon prepares to deliver the mortal blow; however, Ryland decides to save the golem, just as he himself was saved in his infancy. Deflecting the demon's final attack away from the battered golem, Ryland joins the battle. Weakened by the encounter with the golem, the demon falls quickly if not easily to Ryland's assault. With the demon's last breath, it laid a curse upon Ryland, dooming him to die in a week's time.
Ryland, unable to reverse the curse despite his best efforts, decides to place the mark of Saladin upon himself to give himself more time. (The mark of Saladin is a well known spell that significantly reduces a person's power in exchange for an extended lifespan.) Accompanied by the golem, which he names Cynewulf, Ryland decides to embark on a journey to find someone capable of breaking his curse, all while also trying to become a legend. Will Ryland succeed?

What annoys you in a game?

1. Games that are too easy. (Easy = Boring)
2. Games that are hard not because of actual difficulty, but because the maker of the game decided to make the game as cheap as possible (You know who you are).
3. Not getting anything for beating insanely hard enemies (aka those enemies that were designed to be impossible to beat).
4. Stupid puzzles/ quests.
5. Incredibly obscure puzzles/ quests.
6. Inconsistency between what is possible in battle and what is possible in the rest of the game.
7. Being able to walk through walls when you aren't an incorporeal entity.
8. Being forced to choose an undesirable option.
9. Being able to predict dialogue/ what a character will do in every situation.
10. Games that claim to be complete when they are merely demos.

Emergence

I think it's impossible too, which is why I'm doing it. After all,
the easy things have already been done.

"Impossible is a word applicable only to those things I have yet to try."
