Version 2.0002 release & patch release

author=Irishred62
Hi,
How do I get out of the Timberwood Forest? It seems to be going around in circles. I have tried going through the trees but, can not find any path? I do have 3 members on my team. I would appreciate any help. Thank you. I enjoy the game.

When you get to the maze part, go right on the first screen, down on the second, and left on the next two screens. There is an NPC in the river village you just came from that mentions this exact thing.

Also, make sure you update to 2.0003 if you haven't already. Have fun and good luck.

Shadows of Evil: Wings of Time Deluxe

Noted. Will be fixed for next version. Thanks.

Ahh, I see what you mean.

I'll play around with it and see what I can come up with. I'll upload a screenshot later.

In Versalia's defense, it does look a little oddball. If you could get it to properly align isometrically then it would look better.

But it doesn't change anything for me. I'm still looking forward to playing it next week.

You're talking about the floor, right? So you're saying that I should make it smaller so that the top half is more visible?

I might need to adjust the background association as far as the sprites are concerned, but I'll play around with it later on and see what I can do. Maybe I'll add some transparency to it, too.

Worked like a charm! Now the whole file is 97MB, much lower than before. Thank you very much. I don't know why I didn't think of doing that earlier...

No no no. I have nothing against your game or you personally. It's silly to think I'm trying to hurt your feelings. I'm trying to get your attention.

So let me get this straight: I finally update my game profile after a year of inactivity (because of work and other real life situations) and here you come suddenly attacking me for posts that I've made to other people over a year ago over an old and decrepid version that I deleted a long time ago? Honestly, what in the blue hell did I do to deserve that?

You just uploaded an updated screenshot using a battle background that still is, visually, horrible. I'm sorry, but it's glaring to the eyeball still.

That's your opinion. And that's fine. You don't like it. I get it already. Sorry if it's not up to your standards.

Your excuse on the previous screenshot of "I am NOT changing it this close to release!" is B.S. Open Paint.net, press CTRL+SHIFT+U, and move the Lightness slider bar down to dim the blinding white stripes slicing your screen apart. That takes 2 seconds

So I decided to change my mind and redo it. What's wrong with that? I realized that it was indeed ugly and needed to be fixed up a bit. I only use Paint for certain pictures, and this certainly wasn't done in Paint. Though, it didn't take me too long to redo it, regardless. Definetly wasn't 2 minutes, though. But since you seem to know exactly how I made this floor, then I guess it's pointless trying to argue my case about it. Meh. I think the floor looks alright to me, certainly better than what it looked like before. But that's just me. You may not like it, but someone else may.

and your extremely hostile attitude tells me that you can't take any kind of criticism at all, like I predicted (and supported with other defensive and angry quotes) in my original posting.

I was only hostile because you struck the first blow by being hostile to me first. I can take criticism just fine, good or bad. The way you went about it was just all wrong, though.

I really did mean Pass/Fail in the most inoffensive way. It just doesn't pass muster.

It doesn't pass your approval. Once again, that's fine. You don't like it. Ok. Understood crystal clear. I'm not looking for YOUR approval. I'm not trying to please everyone - I can't please everyone, because if I was able to please everyone, something is very wrong.

If my advice is unwelcome, though, I am MORE than happy to stop giving it.

Any advice is welcome. Whether I'll heed it or not, is my decision, though.

I do hope you reconsider this particular background and posting walkthroughs for bosses that are "easily killable at level 1."

I changed my mind. I figure why do that, when I have an entire massive walkthrough on my hard drive that I can and need to update? I am sorry - I don't know what in the world I was thinking at that particular moment, I was probably high at the time. I'm not going to change the background, however. It's only used in like, a few rooms, anyway.

If that's all, I'm patiently waiting for my updated download to be accepted. Because I'm really not in the mood for this tonight.

How do you get the little music note in front of the skill name like that? That's neat. =)

Glyph editing using Resource Hacker. I wanted to use shoes instead, but could never get them to show correctly in-game. So I used the note instead.

Pass/fail that background: fail

Oh boo-hoo. I'm so sad now.

Seriously, I GET IT, dude. You don't like the game. You're not hurting my feelings one bit. You don't have to be an ass about it.

It's actually the entrance to a mountain pass you have to go through in the first chapter.

Seeing as how the missing music file is a .wav, I would suggest downloading a program such as Goldwave and converting your music files to .mp3 to lower the game's size by a significant amount, perhaps even to less than a quarter of what it is now depending on the length of the music files.

Alright, thanks. I'll try that and reupload.
