RPGCREATOR'S PROFILE

My real name is Joel. I´m at the moment of writing 25 years old, part-time employed at a cleaning company. In my spare time, I mostly play games, write stuff and create things in the different RPG Maker programs. I mostly just create. I haven´t released anything in a complete state since just tinkering with the editor gives me joy.

I have a special project ongoing for longer than I thought though. It´s called "The Lost Discovery". You would find the game page on the site.
I´m from Sweden, so my primary language is unfortunately not english, so my grammar can be really bad at times. One of the minor setbacks when you want to create games and release them to the international crowds.

More is to come later on.

Thank you for the feedback. I will look into it. :)

Just a quick little thing about this screen: You may see the Basic Mouse system script (created by V.M for D.T) in usage here, but I´m not sure it´s a feature that will last in my game. I am still considering it for the simplicity in the control scheme.

Xenoblade Chronicles Is Out! Protip: Buy it

Since I´m living in Sweden, we´ve had this game for a while. Quite good. I didn´t like some parts about the battle system, but I can recommend it (I haven´t finished the game however). I would recommend playing with the japanese voices since the english ones, in my opinion, doesn´t cut it.
You can choose the japanese voice overs? That's cool, not a lot of games have that, when they totally should. One thing that I wondered was if you can use a gamecube controller, or does it have to be the classic one?

Just noticed The Last Story is also available already, but I'll wait till it's ~15€, probably won't take that long.

Agreed. Sometimes japanese is better even though you need to be more focused on the subtitles (at least I do since I can´t understand the language). xP
I have only played this with my Wiimote and nunchuk. On the back of the cover, it´s said you can play with the classic controller as well, but nothing about GC.

Script help - YANFLY ENGINE ACE - INPUT COMBO SKILLS

Please remove this thread. I were too fast in asking and less reading.

Script help - YANFLY ENGINE ACE - INPUT COMBO SKILLS

I need help with this script (YANFLY ENGINE ACE - INPUT COMBO SKILLS). I do understand it, kinda, but what I don´t get is how to string combos into a new skill.
If I, for example, choose three skills and want that to result in a special skill, how can I perform that. I understand the roles of noteboxes in this script, but I´m not sure how to use this particular feature of how to string toether combos to form another skill.
I hope you understand even though my english is kinda... half-bad perhaps.
Not sure if this is the right forum for this question either, but please move the thread in that case.

Does negative feedback deter you?

Never critizise too hard on anyone. Like "That part of the game sucked totally, you idiot". More of the "I didn´t like the game actually. Cou could improve this and that". Show that you actually played the game through and have good points about what you are critizing about. That´s a "negative" feedback I would listen to (of course) and the reply to the latter should be an honest one to show that you actually listened to it. "Thank you. I will try to improve this in an update or in the next game".
I almost never post my projects, so I never get any feedback whatsoever, but on some ideas I´ve had that were terrible to some, it mostly ends with that I don´t use that particular idea for the game. I´m mostly cancellin my projects because I lose interest and find a new idea. Stupid, I know.

Another leveling system where you don´t level

Thank you for the feedback this far. I´m seriously thinking about the ideas that LockeZ gave me here and spin around with that for a while. Especially how players can think about their next moves when they see the oncoming attack of an enemy. Thanks to prexus, I will also think about the gear´s role in my game. Now Ghart (the protagonist) only has a weapon and a basic armor. I had an idea to level up the gear in some way at first, but I´m not really sure about this. I might have to "rethink" about some parts of this "system".

Your Top Features in Games

I remember, even not an RPG, that some Phoenix Wright games only had the moments where you could save at the start of investigation or a trial and of course the suspended save (at least my version. a friend says otherwise) and I hated that. On the other hand though, the court trials became more intense since there was a lot of progress made at stake if you lost.

Another leveling system where you don´t level

I´m not going for the usual leveling system in my game. I´m doing more of a Metroid thing where you find your powerups. ATk,DEF; MAG powerups and even Level ups which are awarded for defeating a boss (like Zelda). This means that battles must be well thought out. every battle needs to be mostly, but what I mean is that you have give the player a chance even if they are at Level 1. Give some strategic skills that could be used well in the right combination and think about everyone´s stats in different circumstances.
What do you think?
I´m using it now in my main project and I´m not really gonna throw this idea away, but if you have any decisions how to make it better I would be really happy. :)
