Hi everybod.... *stumbles on shoelaces and falls through a window*

As a fellow writer and advocate of proper spelling and grammar in all cases, I approve of this post!

Not that my approval means anything, but it had to be said. How goes it? Are you going to be making any games?

I need a witty title. Here's one: Heya!

Thanks for the welcome! Hello, evil_ash!

Yes, I'm about to upload a very early playable Alpha version that includes the very bare prologue. When the upload is finished I'll be working on adding more to the starting town.

Hi there

Hello, LiannaSays.

That concept does sound interesting, almost like how I originally planned one of my novel ideas. Following different characters individually before bringing them all together in a later episode. I do like the sound of playing their lives rather than reading about it. I think the above posters are right, though, in that the episodes still should feel like complete stories even if they are only part of a bigger one.

I also have to mention that your name is almost the same as one of my original characters', Liana. Fun fact!

Hello everybody! I'm brand new to this scene but not to RPG Maker. I've been playing around with the PC versions for quite some time, and even owned the PS2 RPG Makers. I've yet to finish any serious project I start, or release anything to the public, but by joining this site I'm hoping to change that!

I just submitted a work-in-progress game called Hero-Man: Valiant Xylophone Ace. It's basically a combat-light RPG about a young man fulfilling his destiny to be the world's greatest hero... And give me an excuse to parody as many different subjects as possible!

Hero-Man as a series is something I've been working on for years, with several iterations lost to a failed hard drive (unfortunately, otherwise I'd upload them!) but always filled with humor and references to video games.

Over this weekend I purchased RPG Maker VX Ace on Steam for half price and began work on rebooting the series, including as much as I can remember from the original, technically complete game! (It was a single map full of people to help, battles to win, and an actual end boss.) That reboot is the aforementioned Hero-Man: VX A, and it features a full (if small) world map with many locations to visit.

I didn't mean to write so much, but that's what I have to say. Game development has always been a dream of mine, but lack of motivation keeps me from pursuing it. I'm hoping to get a boost from this community of gamers and makers!

Ooh, ooh: I have a question(s) and I don't really know where I should post it, but hopefully someone who sees this post can answer: When submitting a VX Ace game, do I need to upload anything aside from the .exe I get when I Compress Game Data without RTP? I took a look at another released game and the download seemed to only contain a .exe file. I don't need to include RTP, right? Seems terribly inefficient to do so. Does it matter if I encrypt it? I don't care whether people open it in VX Ace, so I don't think I should.

I came for the punch and pie

Heroman IV... Funny because the game I just submitted is actually called Hero-Man! Great coincidence. I'm new too, about to make my own post but I just had to comment on this! Great idea for a game as well!
