Inside-A thematic action game.

Thanks for the good review Griever. I'm currently finishing the final boss and will release 1.5(fixed version) soon. Glad you enjoyed the game.

Definitely not a huge fan of the hero sprite...other than that, the map sort of reminds me of 'Fort Eagle' from the DS rpg 'Contact'. ('Contact' is awesome by the way, for those with a DS who've never played it.)

INSIDE

WARNING, there were some slight bugs I discovered in v1.5. I'm going to post a fixed version soon.

INSIDE v1.5 is now out! It features...

-The start of another boss at the end (still working on that)

-Fixed a boatload of glitches, including the one fallen griever mentioned.

-Universalized events such as spikeballs and groundspikes into the common events so that (for example) if I want to edit the event of all groundspikes, I can simply edit the one event and be done with it. This'll make bug fixing much easier.

Three the Hard Way Review

Well you have crappy english then, so THERE.

Thanks for playing Greiver. I'm posting a re-release soon with some fixed bugs as well as some more explanation to the game's pretty crazy story. Who knows, I may decide to add 2 or 3 levels also.

Inside-A thematic action game.

I have witnessed no less than 100 examples that illustrate why this is a terrible choice when making an action game. Without playing your game, I feel like I can predict to within 100% accuracy that it will be fraught with physics bugs and spotty to awful collision detection.

I can understand why you'd think that Max, which is why the game's engine is VERY simple. Before, I had given Jack the ability to attack the enemy, but then I realized that the very thing you're referencing was happening, so I removed it. I realized that It was still really fun avoiding traps, obstacles, and running away from enemies rather than taking them head on. It's a bit reminisce of N+, for anybody who's played that.

Thankfully, they're not that grainy, but I saved the images as JPGs, which seem to like to change themselves. As for the custom graphics, sure they're noteworthy, but the fact that they're custom doesn't particularly count for much in the game. Thanks for noting that Max.

May I inquire as to what engine this was developed with?

Why yes you may. RM2k3.

Inside

What is this place?

On a night that should have been just like any other...Jack Remin wakes up in an empty room with no explanation or reconciliation of the past few minutes. The only discernable objects are the dark door ahead. As he begins to explore he discovers that there's no easy way to survive this strange world he's found himself in as he's bombarded with seemingly lethal traps and hideous, faceless beasts. Meanwhile, employees of a Video Game Development Company known as 'Excel Games' are just going off duty when they discover that one of their employees is trapped inside an experimental VR video game. With Excel doing all that they can to free their trapped employee, and the military suddenly taking the building by storm, something more than an equipment malfunction is happening and the only person who knows is Jack, who seems to be suffering from a bit of amnesia…

Things will happen quickly from here on out...

Features include...
-Addictive and simple game play.
-A 3-difficulty choice
-An option of whether or not to view the cut-scenes (for those who play games for the sake of the game)

You'll be pursued by dangerous and faceless monsters.

An interesting environment

Fun and addictive gameplay

Bizzare and challenging bosses

Thrilling storyline with, of course, the option of skipping it altogether.

By the way, INSIDE is now a complete game, but I'm always looking to add more levels...SO, I've added a map with basic level events for those who'd like to create their own levels. See the README for more info.

Enjoy!

Here's a download link, for those too lazy to go and find the game themselves.

Almost too reminiscent of ET...
