ROWAN'S PROFILE

I'm just a guy interested in making an RPG. I started using RPG Maker way back in RM2k days. My first game was wiped out when my old CPU crashed so yeah.. I decided to make a new one and have been working on it ever since. I mostly enjoy lurking around the RMN forums but I've decided to become more active in the community. I can be a smart-ass at times, but I'm generally an easy going friendly dude.

P.S: Oh yeah, I'm gay (seriously)

Another great screen YDS!

I love Squanto's name.

Testers. I need a few.

I'd be more than willing to.

Really nice, dude. You're quite the opposite from most of the other people I see: you tend to draw guys more than girls. lol.

Yeah lol. Karsu would be ashamed of me.

;w; I made an account

Nice art! Although the guy with the green hair in the last pic has female-sized hips.

Anyhow, welcome aboard!

Bugfixes? I hope?

XP bug:

if the current XP cost for a skill is 30, and you have 40+ XP, it'll spend 40 as though the cost had risen before the skill was actually obtained. (those numbers are just examples, it happens no matter the current cost i think!)

as far as i can tell this always happens, with all characters. kinda sucks when you fight a boss and your XP jumps from "almost there" to "surplus" because there's no way to avoid waste.
Woah, surprised nobody picked up on this before. I'll take care of it.

Actually, I posted something like this in your last blog. I noticed it on my third playthrough.

Wow, it seems like a lot has changed since I tested, or I just didn't run into any of this stuff somehow :| What do you mean by Reprieve, Rowan?

You get to choose whether you want to be healed or not after the first floor. IIRC, the game specifically calls it a reprieve, so yeah.

Also, the quicksave bug still exists. I just tried using it to return to the title screen and it crashed. It seems to happen randomly as I just tried quicksaving again and it worked.

More bugs!

Playthrough 2: (12 Floors, Insane, Reprieve ON)

Typo:
-In the Forest Area advice, Olsen says, "I beat it's actually weak to Earth;"

Overall Experience:
-Dude... The Forest Area - and I thought the ruins/bookcase floor was bad. Fuckin' Slimes hit Wish for 958 with that Water Attack. I know it's her weakness, but goddammit. (Fyi, it was one of Imp mixup battles, so I had no choice.) It get's worse as they can do 300-400 regularly on any other neutral resistance party member. One of my character's with Vanity got hit, and the recoil basically took it down to 1 health.

The miniboss and boss are cheap as hell when compared to the other bosses. They do around 300-700 something damage regularly on neutral resistence party members. Defang from the miniboss did 352 damage on Padrick. The boss, despite it's ridiculous damage, is a little managable as his weakness is easy to exploit; plus, Lava Lane with a 2.5x damage buff wrecks it. It's very high drainage capability is annoying; but hey, a boss is a boss. It's not supposed to be cakewalk so it's understandable.

So yeah, I ended up getting frustrated and just closed out midway during the plant boss. No more insane mode for me in this game. :P The buff to Blessing and Nadia's Wind-Move is MUCH appreciated! Thanks! Her usefulness has greatly increased.

I didn't experience the essence bug this time. Probably because the forest area hit me SO HARD in this run. (Refer to Playthrough 3) It's a shame cause I was having so much fun last night without the forest experience. The only reedemable factor about that floor is it's nice BG music. (Icecap Zone remix ftw)

No tier list on this run as I rage quitted way too early.

Playthrough 3: (9 Floors, Normal, Repreive ON)

Bug List:
-I was able to access the party member switch screen and menu at the very end of the beginning cutscene (where Seth get's his orb out).

-When I spend XP for skills, sometimes all of my XP is spent. For example; Nadia had 49 XP and I decided to buy Delirious Fog which is 40 XP. As soon as I purchased it, ALL of Nadia's XP was spent instead of leaving me 9 XP.

-Because Sudden Bludgeon hits an enemy twice, if the RNG kicks in and an enemy becomes confused on the first hit, the second hit will end up removing it. This is more of an annoyance then a bug really.

-The Essence bug hit once again. It happens when I'm in the status menu using items to increase my stats. I used Grapes of Wrath once on Jesse, Ersats, Carmilla; then I used Stolen Load once on Ersatz and twice on Myra. I'm pretty sure this is when it happens as I checked my Essences JUST before doing this. FYI, I was also in the In-between hub as well.

-Sometimes when I access the equip screen of a fully essenced character ALL of my character's last 3 essences are removed/deleted. I mean, they're completely gone.

Overall Experience:
-In a weird way, I think the undead miniboss (The undead gargoyle/dragon thing) needs a little buffing. It's really really easy.

-Jesse is cute/dumb muscle. Good job! It seems like he's always mad though. Is he that pissed his fathers dead?

Will put Tier List later

The essence bug seems to be related to the equip system, looks like the last four or so slots get emptied out for some odd reason when switching characters I presume.
!!

I will look into this. Thank you.

EDIT: Spent some time looking into it. Could not replicate it.

It's actually related to the Boosters.

-I feel The "Bless" skill is VERY underwhelming. Sure, I understanding the heal needs to be low, but seriously 5HP/2EN? lol what? And it's a flat amount to. As the monsters get stronger and stronger, that 5HP heal begins to feel alot more meaningless. Fortunately, I do like how it heals regardless if the characters takes damage from a hit or not.
It's not about healing. You do not get 'real' healing. Forget about healing. Bless is -5 -8 damage taken per hit, and you regenerate Energy. Use it on your energy-intensive casters.

The EN healing portion is fine, but you cannot justify taking a huge damage hit (I'm talking about damage in the 100's up) and only decreasing it by a mere 5HP. It's a great effect that'll help conserve EN in the long run, but the HP heal is was negligible at best. The math just doesn't work out especially against enemies that regularly have the ability to do 200+ damage (i.e. bosses and some of the enemies in the forest floor). The buff is much preferred now that you can actually see the effects of it once you start getting in the later levels.

Bug list::
(This playthrough was set to 12 floors and on the Highest Difficulty. I did not select the reprieve.)

-When selecting an item that target's all allies, in the above toggle box it say's "Target foe's" instead of "Target Ally's"

-Somehow, I have acquired over +70 Rogue Belts, 43 Chipped orbs, 28 Crooked Staffs, 70 Granite Bracers, 58 Golden Rosary's, and other several mass duplicate essences just before I started the 3rd level.

-I've made it to the sixth floor, and I still can't locate the shop.

-At one point, I was able to use item's like "Bitter Root" and what not 4 teams each per consumption. Further into the game, I was only able to use it once per consumption.

-When I go to quit the game via the system menu, the game crashes.

Now my thoughts::
-I HATE the enemies in the bookcase floor. It's by far the roughest in terms of HP damage done to the party.

-I'd love to know the cooldown for skills before I actually use them.

-I feel the "Wind Impact" skill is underpowered. The damage is alright; however, the player has no control over who it hits and the cooldown is kinda painful. This posed very troublesome for Nadia's as it's her only damaging skill in the beginning. Thus, she ended up guarding most of the time as I didn't want to waste items on normal encounters.

-Music is great! Nice selection.

I made it to the 6th floor before "GAME OVER". IIRC, I fought the Sand worm first, Phoenix next, 2-wisps 1-Ghost third, Quezacotl fourth, 2-wisps 1-Ghost (again) 5th, and I never got to the last boss on the 6th floor. 4hr 45min playthrough.
