Making Pictures Adequate for RM2k3(Help!)

Download Paint.Net, put the picture in it, save it. It should make it compatible with 2K3.
Not to hijack this thread, but will Paint.Net prevent the color in pictures from dying when they're saved as .png?
(<-- will feel like a derp if this is true, because I never previously thought about using P.Net for anything other than drawing.)

Anyway, I was inspired to try making games by two major projects: Yume Nikki and Ib. If you haven't heard of them, I highly recommend looking into them. :D
Anyway, since I'm a (insert age here) teenager, I kind of suck at making games.
And it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I'm mashing the keys like a monkey over here.
So, if you're patient enough, maybe you can teach me just what the heck I'm doing, and I can be your fwiend. ouo
