Asalieri Search Party!

I've not seen Asalieri online since December, bar one post last month. I'm aware that his wife is pregnant (must be about five or six months now), and that he already has one child to take care of, but he seems to have disappeared off the face of the internet!

Me and him were supposed to start CynCritics over New Year's and after a couple of e-mails and PMs, I still can;t get a hold of him. Therefore, I say we all keep an eye out for the guy! And bring him back to RMN kicking and screaming - because we're that evil! >=]

Who's with me?

Alcohol and/or Drugs.

I drink quite regularly. Never enough to lose control of myself, but enough to remove some of the barriers between my brain and my mouth. Some of the things I regret saying after a few drinks...

I always have a stock of beer in the fridge, there's wine, sambuca and various mixers in my cupboard, but they usually only come out for special occasions and I casually drink a couple of beers a day. It's like grabbing a coffee. That said, I only usually have two a day if that.

I've experimented with various drugs, none of which appealed to me, and none of which I got addicted to, thankfully. I've also only messed around with minor drugs, I've not even gone within ten feet of what you'd classify as an "A Class" drug.

I figure a lot of drugs are less harmful than many substances available legally. Hell, alcohol can have a bigger effect on me than weed. I actually consider cigarettes to be worse than half the stuff I've tried.

As to the point of legalising marijuana? Yeah, it should be legal because it's not very harmful at all. It's like Tyranos said, in places where prostitution is legalised, the prostitutes get a better deal, are healthier and tested for sexually transmitted diseases. It works much better.

The reason why a lot of youths abuse drugs and alcohol is because it's forbidden, and they feel they're proving a point to their peers. If alcohol were legal for a fourteen year old to drink, he'd be unable to brag everytime he had some, and therefore be likely to drink less. If you can get your hands on forbidden fruit, people tend to look up to you, if anyone and everyone can get hold of it, you have no ability or reason to show off.

Take Italy for example, they don't have a legal drinking age, and they don't have a problem with alcoholism because everyone's brought up around it and has access to it, which lowers their interest in it.

Just my thoughts.
