SAMURAITSUNDERE'S PROFILE
I'm an art student who's wanted to make video games for YEARS. I'm mainly on this site to get some tips on how to make better games with RPG Maker XP(the game engine I'm currently working with). This year, apart from making games with RMXP, I'll also be experimenting with a free 3D animation and game developement tool called "Blender"(One of my upperclassmen is a pro with this software and has made some pretty interesting stuff), and because it's a 3D developement tool, I'll be stepping up my laptop a notch -- gotta get something with a nice amount of memory, ram, and a decent processor(I REALLY don't want anything less than an i7). I've found a nice little model for about $800 that fits all these specs -- I hope to have this before the next 3 months are over, so wish me luck :D.
Oh, and I'm a geek(obviously) so I have a fanfiction.net account XD Ironically, it has the same user name as the one on this site, except with a space in it(Samurai Tsundere).

You really need to get this game picked up by some major company. I would honestly be willing to spend $70 on it if the demo is good XD

What is up with all the NAMES people come up with for their games?

My current project is named Breach:Awakening. These two words have no significance to each other, or at least it appears that way. Within the context of the story, though, they make perfect sense. Seeing as the game page opens with a blurb from the intro about some kind of accident at an important facility, and I detail that there is demon capturing/summoning, someone should be able to put together that there is a breach in something (containment, perhaps?), and that something (that was being contained, maybe?) is waking up and that this is probably not a good thing!
My on again, off again western? "Way of the Gun"
My on again, off again cyberpunk thing? "Cybernoir" (okay, that one I kind of phoned in)
I do a lot of eye-rolling at some of the names here, and to be honest it has nuked my interest in a few games. Your game's name should be like its handshake? If your game met a bunch of other games at a party, would they all laugh about your game's name behind its back? Maybe that should be the litmus test for game name insanity.
I think "Breach:Awakening"and "Cybernoir" aren't bad game names. Though I think there are quite a few "Way of the Gun"s out there...
Is it possible to sync this site to your e-mail?
author=CharlesGabrielauthor=kentonaI would like to see notifications on what's new on the main page, all of those things that appear there in those sections. Also, when someone send you a PM or reply to a thread you start. All of that, but I wanna have a system like a check-box thingy where I can decide which ones to turn on / off. That will be great, it'll be some time-consuming task for you guys if you decide to go along with that though.
Not currently. RMN doesn't send out emails (except when you request a password reset).
Is this something that people want? And for what kinds of notifications?
... I really like this idea. Though I don't know how easy this will be to execute, so I'm more on board with something like this:
author=ankylo
what if it was a digest? like daily/weekly/whateverly interval of things you want to be notified of?
That way, like Adon said, we wouldn't be getting notified for EVERY message(we have something like that on this online game, and I'm contemplating deleting one of my e-mails because of all the spam.)

Did you play Romancing Walker :

No, but I've heard it referenced about 4 times today, so I feel this need to play it *_* is it compelling?

Apparently you chose to ignore their good advice by making a new topic. :|
I am sure you aren't going to do anything reasonable until we hold your hand and/or make it for you.
I wasn't asking for anyone to hold my hand. I was simply asking if there were any games out there LIKE the kind I'm trying to make so that I could play them, because I like these types of games.
There is a difference between "How do you MAKE this game?" and "Are there any games out there like this? Because I like them." :)

Something I've noticed is that the more a game has a crazy name or weird title it can be found easier or remembered over something generic.
Even the "Radiant Wings of Silver Time" would be easy to find in google or on this site because it's probably the only game with a name in that order.
My game is called Infection, and it's about "zombies" although it really isn't listed anywhere that it can be found with zombie genre games. This is a bad thing and a good thing. I personally like the classic title without all the addons, but if it had a crazier name like Infection, Bloody Zombies Bring Apocalypse, it would probably show up A WHOLE LOT easier in a search engine.
While just "Infection" brings up other games with that word in it.
So, that's my take on some titles, even though they might not make the name for the purpose of easier accessibility, it does help though.
I read about your game a few hours ago! It seems great, and the difficulty curve sounds perfect :)
I actually like the name though. Its short, and sure people can tell some sort of *insert evil thing here*-ocolypse is about to occur, but it made me want to check it out.
