Is it okay to use music from other games?
You shouldn't really have to worry about getting in trouble for using music from other games on yours. It's been a thing that people were doing since the early days or RPG Maker, and even the big, top-rated games do it, and I haven't heard of anyone actually getting sued for it.
So as long as you don't plan on selling your game, feel free to go for it.
However, you should try to not use music from really big and famous games like Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger (unless you are making a fan game), and mention in the credits where the music came from.

Summoner of Sounds
I finally finished my first full song thanks to the motivation of this event.
I'm nervous about it (it took me a few minutes to finally decide to click the "Submit" button), but making video game music has always been a skill I wanted to acquire, so it's good that I finally got at least one tune out somewhere other than the inside of my mind.
One thing I'm not 100% sure about is the sound of the wind instrument, so I might add some other versions later on. There are also a couple of harp notes that I'm not satisfied with, but I had enough of this track for today, so I'll fix them tomorrow.

0.27 Released
Here's some bugs I found:
After a certain amount of steps are taken (30 to 40 steps usually does it), I get an error message and the game crashes. The numbers at the end are not always the same.

There is no "none" option for composite parts except accessory. If you try to add one by creating a new part and not specifying an image file, the editor starts giving "Could not open character part (project path)\(null)" errors. At least the preview window does correctly show the character without ears/tail/hair/eyes/clothes/body, so it should work if there was no error message.
If you change the slot used by a composite part, then edit a character sprite that uses that part, you get an "Arraylist out of bounds (2)" error similar to the other one.

RPG 20XX Engine

If you're on Windows 7 and above, delete C:\Users\<Your Name>\AppData\Roaming\rpg20xx for a "factory" reset. This folder is somewhere else in Windows XP.
The editor will start blank and you'll have to open existing project/start new project. None of your game projects get deleted by doing the above.
If you open a previous project back up and the editor breaks again, ZIP up and send me that project. Sometimes you have to do a specific thing for the editor to break. If so, try to recreate your steps.
The editor does this if reopened after an internal fault.
That worked. Thanks.
RPG 20XX Engine
I can't run the editor. When I run it, the icon appears on the taskbar, but does nothing. If I try to run a second instance of it without closing the first one, i get an error saying "Could not find any engine files, check your installation of RPG 20XX".
[RM2K3] What do you like best about 2k3?
The main advantage, in my opinion, is that it's easier to make graphical assets. As a result, there are many different tiles and characters, while RMVXAce has all assets done in RTP style, which makes all games look similar.
What are some really funny RPG Maker games?
There was this old game called cRaZy_GuY's Journey that somebody managed to save and upload on this site a few months ago. It's pretty funny and has a lot of content.

My idea for a game:
There is only a single dungeon, which is a crypt with zombies and other undead monsters (kinda cliché, but whatever).
Each of the floors contains one puzzle, as well as one battle. The battles are based around picking the right equipment for your party and figuring out the monsters' attack patterns.
You start with all equipment available, and there is no levelling up. Of course, each piece of equipment has a much more drastic effect than just stat buffs. For example, the fighter can choose between a shield that heals the entire party when he defends, attracts enemy attacks, or makes him counter-attack. Available spells are also dependent on equipment.

I submitted my first entry: Game Over
All feedback is welcome :)
I like it, but it seems more suited for a dramatic/sad scene than for the Game Over screen (but it's just a name, so it doesn't really matter).
