STATUS
I honestly don't know if getting all of these games to Proof of Concept status and then shelving them to work on my main is a sound strategy, or if I'm just addicted to starting new projects. 50/50.

That's pretty much how every one of us operates.
The only way to not shelve smaller projects in favor of the main is to not have a main in the first place. Keep everything you do small.
But that's boring, so... :\

I don't think there's anything wrong with creating proof of concepts alongside a main project. It's a good way to shift gears if you need a break from your main project and test if an idea that sounds good on paper translates well into something playable.
if ALL you're doing is proof of concepts, though, then yeah. That may be a problem if you're actually trying to complete a game.

My main project is the one that interests me the least. Through no fault of its own, it's just that the new projects are--metaphorically speaking--younger and sexier. Well I guess they're literally younger. Anyway, that's the part that's problematic, that my main project is the one I have the least enthusiasm for.
The mind desires creative freedom. Sometimes to get work done on one project, you need to open your thoughts up to another one, or a new idea entirely, so you can come back to it with a fresh perspective.
Yeah, I know. <3
I got it bad though. Right now I'm hustling to finish and shelve a proof of concept for Night City so that I can finish and release the first episode of Road To Paradise so that I can participate in the Swap event. Doesn't help that I'm just OCD enough that I'm hell-bent-for-leather to do these things in that exact order.
Thats what game jams are for I suppose. Like I did with Hazmat in the past, if I make more proof of concept game mechanics I will probably write a tiny little narrative to go with it to make it something I can release for free to draw interest to my main projects.
I've finished all my games except of one. I've about 9 or 10 finished games but I'm too lazy to translate them all.
Tw0Face man that puts you so far ahead of the curve it's crazy. I consider finishing one game to be a notable accomplishment (I mean always assuming it's something that you put effort into).
You're right, but I speak from personal experience when I say don't put too much effort in RM Games if you don't want to end up changing everything over 94123 times just because you're an insane perfectionist. This can be an addiction as well. xD
