Star Stealing Prince

Well, I simply downloaded 15 days ago and played without sayin' a word until the end of the game. If it crashed right at the end of the final battle twice (and that battle is long) I have the right to be frustrated enough to post here.

Anyway, I made it to the end and due to my limited monthly download ADSL I won't use more than 100mb to see the ending scene, so, that's it... I've seen the whole game and finished it (with all of the optional items and quests done) so I'm done here.

Star Stealing Prince

I really hate you...

I know it's not your fault, but I defeated the original King in the last battle.. and the game crashed. Tried again and crashed after I got the knife. I guess I'll never see the end of this game

Except for this, I've been amazed by this game. Great story, good fights, but poor puzzles. The only real challenge has been the optional boss, but I enjoyed the game very much.

I HATE YOU! :)

Manifest

Ok... I have completed the game. Surely I lost something on the way (Only 88 relics), but I had the best equipment and solved all the ruins' puzzles.

That's what I think (I don't write a review because of my poor english, I'm Italian):

I absolutely loved the game as I was playin' it, I had a great challenge with some puzzles, had a balanced fighting experience even at level 99 and everything worked just fine. All those minigames were a great way to enlarge the game experience itself, but...

Probably the game lacks in pathos and the beauty of minigames brings with it the risk of losing the focus on the plot. Sometimes, and It's uncommon to me, I quite forgot what I was doing before a minigame or a sidequest (some of them, based on the drop chance were quite long to do). The right balance is even too right: at level 99 you don't feel as your PG are godlike, even because the skill tree stops spreading fruits at level 45 and no skill seems really "legendary" (a level 99 mage HAS to have a devastating spell, I think).

You created one of the best VX games ever in the freeware scene, a must play for the super well rounded game experience, but somehow it seems too scholastic, too perfect, If I'm clear enough saying so.
I hope to see something more from you because you are truly a great game maker...

4/5

Minor bug detected:

There's an Issue with Fidese Hp/level up after level 80: it raises and falls without a reason. EX. lev 81 Hp 284x, when you level up you see your hp raise to 301x but at level 82 hp raises from 294x (and not from the 301x you truly have to 308x.

@Superes - Thanks =). Were you able to complete all four of the parts you had questions on?

I'm about to complete the game, I'm into the last sidequest (i guess). I had my first disappointment after 38 hours:

I killed Narxooth, I don't remember the right spelling and, well... I don't blame the poor loot or the poorness of the letter, but you should have written some dialogue line more. Nothing too serious, but I had no pathos in that scene. Anyway: I was level 83 (87 now) and had some trouble, but not too much.

I'm making my way to the end of the game, but I'm sidequesting. Because of this I will put down my questions

1. The list: I found the emerald scale (and I'm leveling there CRAZYLY) and I know where to find the rest. It seems like all is made of random monsters loot... but the phoenix; I can't find it in the forest... it just doesn't show. Isn't it a random monster?

2. I miss the last tower and probably it's the easiest, but I'm stuck (I breezed through the raining island ruin, it's pretty incredible): I found the note about the ruin on the dead island with the triples I have to follow but I can't use it. I tried pushing the switches in the given order tryin' every possible point as the 1, but the door won't budge! About this... since the beginning I have the same problem: I can't use key items INSIDE buildings: game ALWAYS crashes without warning if I try to read a note about the ruin when I am in the ruin itself

3. In the Syndarion cave I found the room with expressions. I solved them and the smartest thing I found to do was using an ascendent order. Well, probably I'm awful in maths, but even here the door won't budge

4. The Titan of Ospes tournament. I'm at level 70 but Napalm Rats kill me... what's the level suggested to try beating the tournament? I'll go to 99 anyway but I'd like to use the last levels in the last dungeon :( - my party: Vellamik - Val - Fidese (I never changed it)

Thanks :)
Good to hear from you again. I'll put my answers below.

1. There is a bird that you randomly encounter throughout the Taebris Forest called the Pterax. You can get a feather from killing it, but it is easier to steal it. Hopefully you don't have to fight there long before one shows up.

2. The position of the numbers on each page of the guide correspond to the position of the buttons. For example, if the top right number is a 6, it means you have to hit the button in the top right as the sixth button. If the bottom left number is a 1, that's the first button you press.

3. Each of the expressions on the sign post should work out to a number from 1 - 6. That will tell you the order you have to hit the buttons in. If you calculate an expression and get something other than 1 - 6, try recalculating them. Do everything in parentheses first, and multiplication and division come before addition/subtraction. All from left to right.

4. You are definitely high enough level to kill the napalm rats. It actually doesn't have anything to do with your level. They only explode after taking damage, so be sure to never use any multiple target abilities or they'll all explode at once. Attack one or two, they'll explode, then heal up, and repeat.

Good luck. Let me know if you have any other questions or need me to elaborate on any of the above answers.

2. YOU ARE A FREAKING GENIUS!! I would have never thought about it...

I might be thinking of the wrong room, but I think the actual quote is "even this one" meaning all the even switches need to be flipped....

I tried, but didn't work!!!

Manifest

Probably Age is making me dumber, usually I don't have to ask for help so often, but I'm quite in a fix

In the sealed cavern I'm in the 12 switches room, the sign in the room tells "Every puzzle has a solution, including this one". If It's an hint... I don't get it!!

Can't wait to search secret places I'm sure you scattered all around the world before getting to Azriad!!! (Level 70 now...)

Here again!

I'm slowly advancing in the game (I work a lot lately) and I have 2 questions:
1) The hidden ruins in Onyx Mountain... I lost a lot of time searching inside the pass... and now I wonder if that will be accessible only later on.

2) The last room in Ice Tower is TRICKY (Or maybe It's difficult to my intelligence!!). Festival's minigames are AWESOME (got the award in every one of them... ). Still stuck in that room...

I hope this game will last a lot more because I'm loving it deeply!!!
Good to hear from you again, thanks for the feedback. Answers to your questions below.

You won't be able to get to the tower until later. And for the ice tower, is it a room with 3 or 4 switches?

Thanks... In the meanwhile I'll level up in the island (level 58 now)

It's the room with 3 switches and 5 balls, I can't figure it out...
