Zelda 1 - Cycle Items System
I'll be using to for a few minor things at least, like the visual effect of warping or maybe if you transform into something with limited ability. As for making the whole game play in Mode 7, the limits cause problems with the way I coded everything. Things like battle animations and pictures don't look right. But there are ways to get around that, like using the Mode 7 function for drawing the hero sprite. But I won't be attempting that in this game. I'm just going to use it sparingly in things I can get working properly. The only problem with what you see in the video is that special events appear to 'stand up' while the map is flat, so you might be able to see a secret that normal blends in with the map. I'm looking at fixing that, like maybe tile substitution or blank pages on the event.

Your welcome! I really enjoyed the game, so it wasn't a chore to put in all that time to find bugs heh
After playing a few more hours(yes, many hours) I think I've figured out one reason why that glitch happens. It seems like sometimes I can walk into the side of a block and it attempts to go into slide mode. I noticed it a few times, perhaps when the top of that block is eye level to my sprite. In any case, it's mostly a visual glitch.
I think the reason I had trouble moving the first time I encountered the glitch is because I was trying to press left and right at the same time, just a little bit. That causes the hero to not move at all and be in walking animation. After you know that, it's easy to avoid.
Those would be the only 2 glitches I noticed.
