Uh oh. Um... oh dear.

Alright, so I've been working on a VX game for a week or so, and I neglected to make a backup. When I try to open the .rvproj file, I get an "Unexpected file format" error.
What the fuck is this?!

Legend of Princess

http://www.konjak.org/

This is a short little Zelda "fangame." It's a one-level 2D platformer beat-'em-up that looks almost exactly like Zelda. It shouldn't take you long, but it's insanely fun and worth a try.

Problem with "Show Picture."

Whenever I try to use the show picture command in VX, I get an error on line 80 of Cache. This is the line:
@cache = Bitmap.new(path)
It tells me "failed to create bitmap." Is there something I'm doing wrong?

PMOG

Just started playing this today. It's a game that takes place on the entire internet; you can create portals to link people to other websites, drop mines for people to step on, leave crates full of money and items for people etc. etc.

Me, I'm going Bedouin-Vigilante-Benefactor, dropping armor for people and sticking it to the legions of Destroyers out there. The game is still in beta, so there's no real point or goal to it yet, but there ARE too many Destroyers. The mine is everyone's favourite item, and I'd like to level the playing field a bit.

I dropped a crate on RMN's homepage. First come, first serve. You may see some crates (or mines) popping up all over the place here...

Resolution problem.

I'm trying to run a few RM games on my new monitor, but it stretches them out to fit the screen and creates enormous dark distorted blotches across the screen. I can't find an option to stretch or compress the screen or anything- I'm using an Acer x223w- and while it doesn't make games unplayable, it's annoying and it certainly takes away from the experience. I can't seem to find a way to fix it.

Help with battle events (VX)

They're not really battle events, but rather, common events set to skills. I need them to perform an action one turn, let the player do what they want for 5 turns, then perform another action (transforming, carrying out actions, reverting back to human form). I'm trying to use as few scripts as possible to set a sort of example, but I don't mind using a script if someone could prepare one for me (earning a spot in the credits, a free blowjob, and my undying unconditional love for all eternity).
Fixed it. By making a separate skill and common event for each form, I was able to do this:

RM games are missing music.

Over the past little while, I re-downloaded Legacies of Dondoran (I entered the music folder thus making it refuse to play any music at all), and downloaded Aurora Wing, Demon tower and 1873 (the latter two today). Now, LoD worked fine, but several of the songs just outright refused to play. Aurora Wing was totally silent except for sound effects, though I found several songs including one titled "Player Phase c- It'll Work Out," but no Player Phase A or B. So, it might have just not downloaded the music.
Demon Tower works fine, but while all of 1873 is silent except for battle music and sound effects, I get an "invalid bitmap file" or something of the sort a few lines after beating Cal.
So is it a problem with my computer, or are RMN's downloads screwed up?

Multiplying variables by fractions.

I'm making a nifty little battle system. Everyone has skills that "change forms" with huge common events linked to them. One of the functions of changing forms is adding 10-100% of a stat. For example, when one character switches to one of his forms, his Attack is raised by 50%. When multiplying a variable, there's no option to multiply it by a percentage of itself, and when I enter "1.5" for a constant to multiply by, it sets it as 0 when I click OK. Is there any way to multiply a stat by 1.5 temporarily?

Remembering a player's location (VX)

I'm making a skill selection room somewhat similar to the Skill Book in Legacies of Dondoran. I need it to remember where the player is when they use the item, then take them back there when they exit. I don't know if this is possible in VX or not, but I can't seem to find any event commands that remember coordinates. Is there some kind of variable trick that has the same function?

Help with custom VX charsets

I used print screen to make a copy of the Fanatic charset and edited the colors in MS Paint. I made sure I copied at the very edges of the tiles, using the blue background as reference, and when I saved the edited copy into VX's Characters folder, it only lets me select a sliver of the sprite a few pixels tall and one pixel wide. How can I get it to recognize how big the sprites are supposed to be?
