Game freezing after event
Fixed it. Turned out the hero wanted to move one more tile left.
However I thought that end event proccessing would have erased that.

Game freezing after event
Iv got an error where the game doesnt crash it just freezez after a cutscene.
I have set up the normal switch erase event and also an scripted to erase the event at the end of the script but the game just wont let me move and none of the buttons work to open the menu and stuff.
Im using rpgmaker 2k3.

How do you design a good tower?
post=133700
Realistically a defensive tower (on a castle or whatever) would nearly always be circular, but that's kind of hard to do in RPG Maker graphics, so what about an octagon? It's pretty simple to make a diagonal wall tile, and it would definitely help the map look like the inside of a tower (a square map would just look like any other building).
I would say that a good tower dungeon should make the player go out in the open air from time to time. Like, maybe a door is locked, so you have to climb out of a high window, shuffle along a ledge and climb in another window, stuff like that. That's not a hard and fast rule, of course, and not all towers will have windows you can climb out of. You've just got to avoid having the player just walking from staircase to staircase on every floor.
If it's some kind of temple or religious building you could have a fixed test or mini-boss on every floor like the pagoda in Wutai, and at the top you get an ultimate weapon.
Not necisarily the towers made in the dark ages and early medieval 500-1200 were mostly square it was only later when they developed a circyular tower that it became standar.(I may be inncorrect on these dates but i think it was about then)
Whether you try and make it circular with diaganol walls or squar should depend on when your gameworld is set around.
Status effects and elemental attacks
Though as much when I was playtesting and against this mob which I programmed to use every status in the game and instant death. Although it was designed ot be a kill it quick thing made me relize if there were lots of normal mobs that would be a pain.
Status effects and elemental attacks
I was wondering if monsters should just have random status effects and elemental attacks or if monsters in a certain area have certian status effects.
such as in a forest make the monsters use Fire and Poison attacks
While an undead crypt they use Ice and Blind etc
Just wondering if its better to allow the player to prepare for a certain area or if you let em try and find a setup to protect them against everything.

Action Resolution System - Thoughts
You still need a battle system for it to an rpg otherwise you simply have a better graficks point and click adventure that you can make in flash. It would make a pretty cool flash game but if it was an rpg it would be kinda pointless.
If you did it in flash it could be pretty cool though.
