The House Key you get is for the Abandoned House in the alleyways. It's locked if you don't have it. If you pick up the gate key from there as well, you can re-enter Acaridae early and do the Zane sidequest (as long as you do it before Miehlebin. Past that point, the trains to the Theatre District don't run.

There's a door in the sewers that's opened up now that leads to the next area.
