I am an OLD hobby programmer in assembler language, have used forth,C,C++ and some old ones you may never have heard of. I am 66 years old and started with computers when I first got a C64. I had some experience using main frames before the home computers. Also an avid RPG gamer. The first home computers were kits that you built and learned to program pretty much by the seat of your pants. No monitor and you had to program in binary that you worked out on paper using a very simple assembler(if you were lucky enough to have written your own. Those were heady days, before the internet and very exciting for a tech freak like me. From my first encounter with computers I was hooked, and have been ever since.

Just an introduction
The basics are: I am an older rpg gamer, aged 66,and am glad to see all the wonderful games everyone has worked on and am impressed by the quality and depth of these games.
At the moment I am starting the second Legionwood game,I have just completed the first. I truly enjoyed playing the first one,and I also downloaded Blackmoon Prophecy, and will most likely play both games back and forth. Ok,a little about myself.
As I mentioned I am older, and began with computers back in 1980-81,when I got a C64 computer for myself, and for my two children. I have always been interested in computers having had some dealings with them while I was in the Navy, enlisted in 1965 and served until 1969. I have had something of an interesting life. After getting out of the service,I hit the streets and into the roaring 70's partying with drinking and of course at that time drugs. I was what some call "Hell bent for leather" and through my 20's there were lots of adventures. I know most of you have read things about that time period, and might wonder if all those stories were true. The drugs, yes those were around, wild parties yes there were some pretty wild parties. It was a much more open and free period, and you met many very interesting people. I went to what was at that time called a freak house party, kind of like a commune, and many times major bands would just drop in and start playing. As I said it was a different time. You may think to yourself, what a wonderful time, but we can't forget the other side of the coin. Yes there was the summer of love, and all the peace love and good vibes. BUT,there was also the dark side of this period, the talk of revolution and the radical groups like the SDS(students for a democratic society) the Weathermen, the black panther party, and there was a greeting you heard a lot "Come the revolution" Me,I was there for the party, and had little interest in the political radicals. I did march in a few peace rally's,because being in the service I had seen the effects of war up close. I hate wars and I wish we could all really just stop all this killing and violence. I for a while got deep into the drug scene, and at one time did not think I would survive into my 30's I am still here,so at about 28-29 I just stopped my partying and I guess just grew up. My meeting my wife(ex wife now) probably saved my life. It was she that got me to clean up my life, and I thank her for being there for me. Got married, had two great children, and life was good for about 18 years. Then my wife and I grew apart, and I was out and about on my own again. After being married for that long a time,I was a bit lost at first, but did not go back to my younger bad habits. I do not drink anymore, and wont do drugs at all. Truly,I never thought I would survive this long, but yet here I am,and glad to be able to enjoy our great technology and all the things that have been invented. So to all you people, greetings and I hope your lives are happy and you enjoy every minute of every day....cause it goes by very quickly. AS we used to say "If it feels good,DO IT"...with moderation of course.
