The Screenshot Topic Returns

Oh it's Mister Big T.. I remember the games you used to make :P

Evil Goddess Enemy Sprite? (NES)

It took me a while to come up with an idea but I actually started something already.

Evil Goddess Enemy Sprite? (NES)

Trying to come up with some ideas, but I probably won't work much on this until after my midterm on Thursday. In the meantime if you come up with even a rough sketch it will be helpful.

What program do you recommend?

I recommend Gale. It's free and it's more oriented towards pixel art. It's also easier to understand if you haven't used anything before.

Evil Goddess Enemy Sprite? (NES)

This sounds interesting. I've done one offs for people on this site before so I can probably whip something up. If you provide more specifics it will make this much easier. Pretty much any info is useful (size, colors, features, theme).

Basically what Brady said. Medium blending only works if it looks like it was done on purpose. What you have just looks like a careless mishmash of stuff.

That image is completely consistent in it's art style. An example of the inconsistency I am talking about would be having a cartoon character in a silent hill game. There are many factors that define consistency such as outline thickness/color, shading, color saturation, body proportions(certain parts), etc. In order for a style to be consistent these things have to be the same throughout.

That looks pretty good. I think you could benefit from adding another ground tile(different color dirt?), adding more holes, or upping the use of lava.

I consider having consistent sprites as a bare minimum even if the graphics aren't particularly amazing. It's one standard I use to rate professionalism. I think most people will agree with this.

[SDK] Final Fantasy VII 2D Remake

Ah I was wondering what happened to this game. Congratulations for joining the real men. Although if you are just starting out I would recommend building this using XNA with C#.
