Alternatives to Towns
If you had tilesets where each object was in the same place (aka window in tileset 1 is in the same location in tileset 2), then you could copy and past house interiors and they'd appear different. Of course that would only work in XP. You could also reuse building interiors for multipe buildings.... The issue is quality, if you plan to make a really amazing game then you don't really have a choice. You can get away with having more houses with locked doors so you don't have to map all of them.
Game Graveyard
I would think people would want to do it, less work and you'd still get a finished game with your name on it, which seems like it would appeal to people. Of course, I would never do it, I stick to art the other aspects kinda go over my head.
Just seems like a large number of really good ideas die before completion and no sense reinventing the wheel.

Game Graveyard
Not sure if this is the place to post this or not so please move it if I'm wrong mods :)
I think there should be a graveyard for dead projects. Somewhere where you can post a game you drop for whatever reason so someone could pick up where you left off (credited obviously). I hate seeing games I'm following the development of all of a sudden disappear and it would give the games a chance at a second life.

Hand Drawn/Painted Tilesets
project wasn't finished but this one is "painted" instead of pixel and I love the way it looks except for the fact that pixel sprites look wrong with the background.

and no sprite should ever cost $90 and that is 100% generated unless you had that commissioned from the creator of looseleaf. there are several websites where you can report an artist and check if an artist has been reported before.

(free/ profit share) Artist looking for 2-3 member team)
Not sure, guess because I don't really have a story at this point, but I thought someone might be interested in working from the ground up, if I don't hear something shortly I'll start writing myself and find someone then :)
(free/ profit share) Artist looking for 2-3 member team)
I'm looking to start a new project with 1/2 other people. I'm an artist and can do both digital and pixel artwork, so I plan on custom tilesets, sprites, character graphics, battle backgrounds, splash screens, etc. I would also most likely do all of the projects mapping.
If we're working with a 2 person team, I'd like to split the writing or at least the idea flow so we both have a game we love.
If we're working with a 3 person team, the third position being a writer, I would still request that story conceptualization be equal, but of course the writer would write.
As far as my opinions on a game concept, I prefer medieval/fantasy with a touch of romance written in.
My work examples:
Digital examples can be found on my DeviantArt:
buprettyinpink.deviantart.com
Pixel Examples:
Ideally, I'd like to find one person to split the project evenly so someone to do eventing and scripting so the specific maker we use isn't an issue for me.
If you have any other questions feel free to contact me on this topic, by pm, email: cosmickitti@gmail.com, or Skype (text only): buprettyinpink

Hi :)
Should've probably posted here first.... But I'm Meg. I'm a digital artist and working to get back into RM games. I've done a fair amount of visual novels lately, but my heart's always been with RPGs :)

Artist looking for Interesting Project
ehh I completely lost this thread :)
the animation isn't my best work, but yes she does have 8 arms. It was my first real animation and done by hand before I discovered things like skeletal animation existed :/
It is something I look at a little and cringe, no one mentioned her oddly shaped feet, face that doesn't move, or the fact it's only 8 frames. But, I don't like to say I do something without showing some proof and it's the only animation I have that isn't from a game in progress and I won't post work before a project is completed.
Don't think there was much else to answer besides the spider.... but thanks for anyone who said the liked my work and sorry for the delayed response to the people who pmed me :)
Oops... and it'd help if I had put my email address up there correctly, fixed now :)
