Animated Title Screen and the Music Box
Those light balls look kind of weird and out of place (except in the snowy background, it looks kind of cool to me lol).
I suggest you work out another effect because this one kind of draws away from the title screen a little. Or at least reduce the number of orbs and their size slightly.

Yeah, that speeding analogy is so over-the-top that is actually kinda funny. But I'm doing nothing of the sort here, I'm just approaching people with a piece of advice, people who I realize are new and don't know any better... I'm also confident that many regulars think like I do even if they can't be bothered to do what I do or don't fully agree with my methods.
The analogy really isn't over the top.
Speeding is usually harmless and in Europe, not even illegal. In the same way, blogging is harmless, not even illegal, and in no way offensive. And in both instances, you're just pointing it out and saying it's wrong with no real evidence supporting your statement. When you can bring me concrete evidence that this is somehow bad....
And the advice is unnecessary and unwarranted. I fail to see how you help raise the standard of game discussion or the flow of games and their information on this website with said advice. As nick noted, your comments are more effective than incessant blogging.
And there is no "hidden etiquette" of any sort. I've been lurking around here long before I made an account and I can say that I'm fairly certain this has never been an issue in the past.

author=Nickauthor=doomed2dieIf you have some skills on really anything, send me a PM. As it is, I got PMs from members about doing other stuff. :)
Aww was hoping for eventing or something fun :P
I'll add pretty much anything interesting to the game. Examples, music box, weather effects, special NPCs, etc.
If I have any cool ideas, I'll send you a PM then haha :P

If you just need dialogue, you could always make some little competition thing. People usually flood in to participate in those (Don't ask me why. I still don't understand it really).
And Altergo, this concept of civil duty is.... Overbearing to say the least. It's like going on the freeway, seeing someone passing you (probably going about 5 mph faster than you), and rolling down the window and yelling at them to slow down. Not only is it unsightly and unnecessarily public, the speeding isn't that big a deal and you aren't law enforcement there to enforce the speed limit.
Now imagine if you were on a freeway without a speed limit, say in Europe. Now you're just straight up obnoxious right?
That's really akin to what you're doing here; there's no rules, implicit or explicit, stating "limit your blogging." And he's an amateur game designer just like everyone else; he's not drawing attention away from amateur game designers. He maybe is drawing attention away from other game designers. Keep in mind the "buzzing games" (as far as I know) is largely based on the frequency of commenting so all that means is Infinity3 is getting a lot of feedback, not that it's blogging too much. Also, comments bring you up to the front game page, not blogs (or not just blogs; haven't really paid that much attention to the mechanics). So I really fail to see why blogging would be, in ANY way, detrimental.

Game Balance: The Difficulty of Balancing A Game
I don't think mainstream games are usually very well balanced but they fit their target audience well enough.
For one, they're usually not challenging. Second, there are usually clearly superior ways of going about the game. (Think Fire Emblem and not using pre-promoted units). That's not in opposition to challenge rounds but the game usually has ways of breaking all semblance of balance. Often times with "class" type games, there are clearly superior classes (Beserker vs Chemist in FFVA.) and the like.
I think a large part of balance is making sure that, for the most part, all options are equally/similarly rewarding. (I.E. leveling beserker and leveling ranger in FFVA should be equally rewarding. One shouldn't be dismal gains and the other godly). I mean, if the player wants to challenge him/herself with 4x beserkers, be my guest but at the same time, having a beserker or 2 in the party shouldn't be detrimental as compared to having 1 or 2 rangers or knights in the party you know?

Logic in games - where do you draw the line?
In terms of dialogue, I thought the Elder's Scrolls game did a really good job which you noted.
If you take out the "Relationship" factor and just work with dialogue choices, that'd be a good alternative. You can make NPC's more/less responsive based on personality and now they're not just babbling. Also, keep in mind that in prior generations people were very friendly with their neighbors, irregardless of how well they knew them.

The gridded walls are kind of awkward TBH.
Also, the grammar is off. You're doing 3 independent clauses separated by commas; that's just a run-on sentence (Comma splice). Also, you change between plural and singular on the third clause, going from you(human) and your life (both singular) to you were pawns (implying a plural now). And finally, you ended a question with a period. Also, generally, when you're modifying one noun with another (you = human), you want to separate them with a comma. So instead of "I pity you human," it would usually be read as "I pity you, human."
It should look like:
"???????: I pity you, human. Your life is a waste; you were a pawn from the beginning. Do you not know what you are?"
Not trying to nitpick; just a heads up since a lot of people really really really hate bad grammar/spelling in games for some reason.
Love the tile set though.

So... I may have screwed myself, but I'm not sure yet.
When you first get the dragon, it prompts a battle and asks if you want to proceed to the battle. I didn't save for a while, so I said "no", saved, and now it doesn't prompt me to go to the battle again. Anyone know what to do?
I think it's a 1 time offer... :/
I never got it to successfully re-request me either; I did it on my second playthrough and you get skilltomes for it so...
