DOOMED2DIE'S PROFILE

This is it.

I would love for this to somehow be continued... :( Like Adon said, maybe a team. :(

FFV is probably my favorite (or at least up there in the top 5) RPG's of all time; I'm going to be sad to see what was a very promising fan game go... Well, best of luck in whatever future endeavors!

Animated Title Screen and the Music Box

Those light balls look kind of weird and out of place (except in the snowy background, it looks kind of cool to me lol).

I suggest you work out another effect because this one kind of draws away from the title screen a little. Or at least reduce the number of orbs and their size slightly.

Yeah, that speeding analogy is so over-the-top that is actually kinda funny. But I'm doing nothing of the sort here, I'm just approaching people with a piece of advice, people who I realize are new and don't know any better... I'm also confident that many regulars think like I do even if they can't be bothered to do what I do or don't fully agree with my methods.

The analogy really isn't over the top.

Speeding is usually harmless and in Europe, not even illegal. In the same way, blogging is harmless, not even illegal, and in no way offensive. And in both instances, you're just pointing it out and saying it's wrong with no real evidence supporting your statement. When you can bring me concrete evidence that this is somehow bad....

And the advice is unnecessary and unwarranted. I fail to see how you help raise the standard of game discussion or the flow of games and their information on this website with said advice. As nick noted, your comments are more effective than incessant blogging.

And there is no "hidden etiquette" of any sort. I've been lurking around here long before I made an account and I can say that I'm fairly certain this has never been an issue in the past.

Aww was hoping for eventing or something fun :P
If you have some skills on really anything, send me a PM. As it is, I got PMs from members about doing other stuff. :)

I'll add pretty much anything interesting to the game. Examples, music box, weather effects, special NPCs, etc.

If I have any cool ideas, I'll send you a PM then haha :P

If you just need dialogue, you could always make some little competition thing. People usually flood in to participate in those (Don't ask me why. I still don't understand it really).

And Altergo, this concept of civil duty is.... Overbearing to say the least. It's like going on the freeway, seeing someone passing you (probably going about 5 mph faster than you), and rolling down the window and yelling at them to slow down. Not only is it unsightly and unnecessarily public, the speeding isn't that big a deal and you aren't law enforcement there to enforce the speed limit.

Now imagine if you were on a freeway without a speed limit, say in Europe. Now you're just straight up obnoxious right?

That's really akin to what you're doing here; there's no rules, implicit or explicit, stating "limit your blogging." And he's an amateur game designer just like everyone else; he's not drawing attention away from amateur game designers. He maybe is drawing attention away from other game designers. Keep in mind the "buzzing games" (as far as I know) is largely based on the frequency of commenting so all that means is Infinity3 is getting a lot of feedback, not that it's blogging too much. Also, comments bring you up to the front game page, not blogs (or not just blogs; haven't really paid that much attention to the mechanics). So I really fail to see why blogging would be, in ANY way, detrimental.

Development Blog #5 - Killing NPCs

This seems really cool but don't any of the citizens fight back? ._.

Looking for DynRPG plugins!

You'd need to be more specific there like "I'd like a plug-in that lets me attack 3 or more times!" or something you know? Then someone might determine whether or not they can undertake those tasks.

I have only rudimentary C++ skills but I'd love to expand those skills on this little scripting thing. Maybe I'd help you out there. I'm pretty good with OOP in general.

Back in the Game

Glad to see it isn't dead :)

What kind of sidequests do you like see in RPGs?

I like Sidequests that make sense, first off. I hate it when I walk up to someone and they go "here are my life problems, I don't suppose you can solve them for me?" Like seriously?

I love a spontaneous quest though. Something like you walk into a certain city and it's under siege and you can help (though, regardless of how illogical it may be, the ability to revisit a sidequest should you skip it, such as one like this, is vital)

Also maybe a combative/mini-gamey type side quest? like guard a caravan and you have to walk around the caravan and intercept the enemies coming in and go into an encounter.

Optional dungeons are always awesome but hey.

In terms of rewards, better equipment is always a godsend. But not sword +10. Something more unique; a weapon that, maybe if not as powerful, at least has special effects that makes it worth using. A poisoned dagger. A vampiric sword. An Axe that attacks twice (because if an axe attacks twice, ouch). Etc.

Also, skills are great. If you help the martial master of the new world, you'd think he'd at least teach you a new skill or something. And maybe some stat boosts to go with. Skills/stat boosts are far more permanent and worth the time investing into doing a side quest than temporarily used equipment.

Sonar Ping

I play and I want :P

I will agree that this is a little bite-sized game. I don't know if you were being sarcastic about the hours and days and weeks of labor producing only minutes of actual gameplay but once you have the basics down, it'd take less time anyway. I would appreciate this being finished. Was rather pissed about the old one being canceled at any rate.
