TEA'S PROFILE

ould be noted that the terms "old way" and "new way" are generational. Earlier generations called the style of voguing the generation before them practiced "old way". Voguers, therefore, reuse these terms to refer to the evolutionary changes of the dance that are observable almost every ten years. Ten years from now, today's "new way" will likely be

hey, thanks y'all

@VirtualVampire
I'm mainly using Paint Tool Sai at the moment, & I'm really digging it. It's really simple to use, but fairly versatile.

@JosephSeraph
You're definitely right about the shading, it's something I need to work on a lot in general. I've been using the same flat, cartoony style as a crutch for a long time w/o ever trying to really change it up. Now that I'm attempting to break out of it to try and improve I've discovered how meek I am when it comes to pushing the shading or doing stuff with no hard lines

Whoops, it's been a while since I've posted. I have a tendency to just not draw at all for a few months and then follow up with a major bout of activity. Here's a WIP doodle:

A friend wanted me to draw my interpretation of Ramsay from the A Song of Ice and Fire series. I've since learned that I'm terrible at both shading and drawin' dudes~.

Olympics 2012

i'm blown away that no one has mentioned the 100m finals race between Usain Bolt (fastest man on earth) and the man who beat him during tryouts.

i was in Toronto just a few hours ago, and they were broadcasting it live in the Eaton Centre mall. They had TVs all over the mall, and there were so many mobs that security had to push people back.
When the race was over, people started screaming and "ooooo-ing". Then there were shoppers running out of the stores everywhere, o__o even out of the lower and upper floors. It was incredible and unreal to watch.

Hah, I'm not surprise they reacted that way. The Track & Field events are always just amazing to watch. During all of the swim finals that Missy Franklin and Michael Phelps participated in, my roommate and I could even hear our neighbors through the wall cheering too.

I enjoy your sketch there, Clareain_Christopher. It's always refreshing to see a female character with a more average build and darker skin, instead of another rail thin lily white girl. Not to mention sensible, but still cool, clothes.

Her clothing is a little puzzling though - judging by the lineart it's fairly tight under the jacket, but the odd lines and shading makes it look kind of bulgy. Also the shading is very... black, and/or just a darker shade of the same hue. Do you use dodge/burn? You'd be amazed at how nice your shading can look when you mix different colors in with your darker shades and highlights. (I don't mean like my silly rainbowpuke sketch that I posted a little ways up, just normal color theory stuff.) Your art is quite nice, and I feel like it could be even better if you pushed your colors just a bit.

What are you thinking about right now?

This character, but with crippling anxiety issues so they just go into a major panic attack every time they're expected to step up to the plate

Olympics 2012

I've discovered that I'm kind of a major Olympics junkie... I've been glued to my phone and tv whenever I have spare time since they've started.

Missy Franklin was great, a total rising star. I hope she keeps it up and we get to see her pull another sweep in four years.

I had a blast watching Williams vs. Sharapova too, that was a slaughter. It might be an odd thing to notice but Serena Williams has great body language on the court - like, super commanding and imposing. She and her sister are fun to watch.

Did anyone catch the water polo game today, I think it was Russia vs. Hungary? I could barely watch the match because the coaches were so hilarious. If you've seen it, you probably know what I mean... one of them looked like a really sweaty, angry Tony Soprano (so basically a normal Tony Soprano) and the other was indescribable, really.

Pixels

I love that cowboy on the bottom right, Killer Wolf. I'm looking forward to seeing a cute little octopus on that bike too, UPRC.

I'm still pretty bad at pixel art myself, but I've been trying to improve. These are edits to the default XP RTP templates in case it isn't obvious - I'm not a fan of the doughy, sort of lumpy look that they have going on so I decided to try and change them a bit. Not sure if it's really an improvement though.

Hello everyone! First post here :)

I've been lurking for a little while, this subforum in particular. You guys are great.

Here's a silly little half-finished sketch. I finally got a tablet so I've been really eager to get started, but I kind of lost enthusiasm for this halfway through.

I don't know how you guys have such smooth, clean lines. Maybe it's because I haven't practiced that much yet, but all my lines are so crooked and sketchy.
