yep that's pretty much what i was trying to say but a word of advice if you do it that way try not to leave the readers with more questions then answers.
I'm not trying to say don't have your characters explain what they are trying to do I'm saying you don't have to pull a sliders or an sg1 and explain every little detail just to wrap things up or worse pull a lost and write yourself into a corner and pull a big cop out ending that explains but doesn't

normally I try to stay out of squabbles between people and I really feel I should stay out of this one but I can see this developing into a very bad rift so here is some hick wisdom for both of you. You can take it or leave it.
@marrend just because you are following your own rules doesn't mean you can't draw from other works also i agree with you on having cleared masakos first stat check it would give him reason to seek her advice later on because you can still have high spirit and fail her stat check because your mind is too high.
@dozen marrend may still be helped by that even if on a subconscious level and even if not it may help someone else nothing you put your whole heart and effort into is a waste you may never see the results of the work but that doesn't mean they aren't there
having said all that i apologize to both of you for stepping into something that isn't any of my business and i will try to keep it from happening in the future.
Yoko is getting a little out of hand on how big of scale shes gotten i'm thinking i should split her into two versions clean mode version and non clean mode version
instead of clean mode path and non clean mode path what do you guys think?

marrend i had an eureka moment in both yoko's and fran's dilemma sometimes the best explanation is no explanation at all growing up there was a scifi show about a guy imprisoned on an island the last episode decided not to explain the weird things going on it just decided to make it weirder and let the fans come to their own explanations so if you are having such a hard time wrapping things in a nice little bow maybe it's not meant to

Why are so many of those people around him? My theory has been he is an unknowing magnet for chaos i'm not saying hes at fault for the strange things that happen to him and those around him just that he attracts people that have strange things happening to them if he wasn't there the strange things would still happen just that he is unknowingly pulling all of these people to him
for example if 3 random students (including nameless and faceless ones) were going to stay at a haunted house, if he isn't one of the three, the chances that one of them would be akari would be astronomical. but if he was one of the three i would say that one of the other two being akari has now gone up to almost a 75% chance

if the veil has weakened then couldn't a person who has the ability to attract strange things to them, as in the case of the player, be able to peek through the veil which would cause the dreams so instead of fran attracting the player he could be unconsciously attracting her.

why have masako drag the player into whatever is going on with fran when fran is perfectly capable of dragging the player into it. unless I'm mistaken you seem to have fran trapped in a dream loop or parallel universe if I was in that situation I would be trying to find a way out no matter the cost and the player could be having the dreams as a result of the efforts to escape. Then the player could turn to masako and tsubasa for help because they are the two smartest charectors in the game.

its similar to redneck: a person raised in small town with a lacking in formal education, the key difference between a redneck and a hick is a redneck never grew out of doing stupid stuff for entertainment. The lack in formal education could be due to dropping out, or as in my case just a breakdown of the quality of the school system. and yes because of the lack of education we are often seen as dumb or as retarded so it is indeed a derogatory remark in the eyes of some. And some get us confused with rednecks hillbillies and oakies.

I'm proud of my hick upbringing a lot of great people in history were considered hicks Da Vinci, Winston Churchill, Thomas Paine, Albert Einstein, just to name a few. And all of them were also big fans of the eureka moment

i find it's sometimes easier to work on two at the same time then it is only focusing on one marrend it seems to me you need a eureka moment you are thinking in circles and over analyzing everything about fran step back and look at the whole picture i'm sure the best solution will come to you

i think a better way to go with the dream thing would be to have him talking to takuya or miki about it and masako overhearing them and masako saying something like she's had similar experiences with weird dreams. I haven't played fran since that first release so i may not have all relevant knowledge but why not split the duties since it is obvious that masako would be better with the supernatural stuff have her investigate the missing homework from that angle and have tsubasa investigate it from the angle of gathering intelligence and setting traps to find the person causing it i get the feeling tsubasa would need absolute proof of a ghost before she would accept that as a rational explanation.
