Gotcha. In the case of Rackward's Pin Down, it's actually a case of me forgetting to mention in the description that it also does damage XD;;

I didn't mean to be catering more than just learning good game design ^^;; But I probably shouldn't have taken it so seriously since you mentioned it being a pet peeve. ;)

What if the skill does damage on top of having a chance to inflict a status? Does that make it feel less cheap? Most of the skills are like that already and I could tweak the ones that aren't.

The thing with the party leader (Or just Kathleen in general) getting all the start-of-battle quotes isn't supposed to happen. It's supposed to be random over your current party. I'll double-check it. Is anyone else having this happen? If not, I suppose it could just be a coincidence?

At 31:43 you said "This 'attempts' stuff doesn't really make me want to use it." I put 'attempts' because it's not 100%. ...Maybe I should say "Inflicts Status X% of the time" instead? Also, Pin Down should say "Inflicts physical damage" as well, so I'll fix it.

33:45 I'll fix the water. I can use all the mapping tips I can get, as I need to improve in that area. Thanks ^_^

38:35 Name error in the character description! Whoopsie! I'll fix that typo ^^;;

42:14 "Some shift-tile mapping to take that tile and put it behind the wall would work." Oh, nice! Do you mean make the stream of water extend downwards? I'll do it!

I noticed that I forgot to give the boss a fancy collapse effect. I'll fix that.

49:00 "I wonder what the most you can get is." Eight, I think? So, six out of eight's not bad!

I noticed Kathleen didn't start at full MP. We should probably be full-healing characters upon them joining the team, as a general practice. Otherwise, I think they'll end up with low HP when they start at a higher level than 1.

Yeah, the level thing was me just throwing ideas around. I prefer the 'everyone set to the same level apon level cap increase' for all your pick and choose needs~

Also, the differences between character levels won't be as great as the game progresses. The difference between a Level 1 and a Level 5 character are a lot, but between a Level 30 and a Level 35 character, it won't be as massive.

Also, perhaps later on we can talk achievements. I know Fomar and Indrah have an achievement system in their games and something like WW would work well with them - getting all characters, maxing out levels for each character, finding all the crystal items, finishing all side quests, getting the best Craze Prize, no-item use run (full Craze Medallions) and other bits and bobs.
We could ask after the script they use (I'm rather sure it's something Fomar created) and if you check their site you can see that there's a score that updates when certain achievements are unlocked. It'd be an interesting addition after the game is complete~

That sounds amazing! Let's keep that in mind!

Also, to anyone reading, now that people have had a chance to try the game, I'm asking for suggestions for how the next part should go (as well as what characters should come next) in the WYRM WARRIORS: The Legend Continues thread! Please let me know if you have any ideas! And, like the items, I think we need some unique names for equipment and loot that reference not only famous RPG Maker games but RMN members and events, so I'll be making a WYRM WARRIORS: Loot thread shorty ^_^

Thank you so much for this great commentary! There's a ton of thoughtful advice, and I'll put it to good use ^_^! (I paused the video at the points with spelling/grammar areas and hopefully knocked those all out, I'll replace those huge doors, and I think I should remake those two houses in Liberty that are so big on the inside).

Speaking of, in the forest where you found Jolanta, you pointed out the water. This game is my first time using the VX Ace RTP (aside from helping a friend design a town) so I'm still learning and didn't know how to do the water correctly >.<;; Is this better?



A hint for your next play: There's a pub on the north-west side of Liberty. There's a character to recruit there ;)

Very nice. The artwork is gorgeous and the music is great. The voice acting isn't terrific, but certainly works, in my opinion.

I want to echo your thoughts on this: For a person's first RPG Maker game, this game has a ton of promise. I also agree that some of the setup is pretty generic for an RPG, but also has enough charm to potentially overcome that.

I second that Nero is the most interesting character thus far, but am looking forward to meeting the rest of the cast, like the witches and getting to see more of Elaina. :D
