How can my party defeat the Techno Angel? Do they have to be above a certain level and if yes, what level? Also, do they they win against the crazy guy?

In Sheldons' castle, on the same floor is a switch room and a door with a barrier. With all 3 switches down, the barrier is gone, but my party gets sent to the last room they were in instead of going through the door, What am I supposed to do cause the left switch stays down and won't do back up?
