Description
It's that time of the year again! That's right, it's rpgmaker.net's 5th birthday and to celebrate this momentous occasion we're going to be having ourselves a nice little game-making bash.
So on June 3rd, 2012, you are cordially invited to participate in RMN's 5th birthday celebration: a 5-hour game-making event. Once the theme is revealed at midnight UTC on June 3rd, users will have a block of 5 hours in which to make a game (any block of 5 hours of the day's 24) and the contest will officially close at 11:59pm UTC on June 3rd. As usual with short time-frame events, we'll be relying on the “honor system” ("honour system" for our European brethren), meaning, please don't take it too seriously and/or cheat: this is just for fun.
That said, participants will receive a tasty slice of birthday achievement and the winner of the event will walk away with the coveted 5-year birthday cake*. They will also receive a copy of RPG Maker 3 Music Pack ($20 value!)
- There are no restrictions on engine or graphics
- The theme will be announced at midnight UTC on June 3rd
- The 24 hour period will be for June 3rd UTC; you can use any block of 5 hours in this time-frame. We're going by the “honor system” here, so please be honorable.
- As with all of the short events, you're not expected to make something fantastic or srs bsns. Hell, don't even worry too much about finishing; the entries usually end up being pretty terrible and a lot of fun, so take this as a chance to cut loose your usual game-dev hangups and do something for the hell of it. You can always continue the project after the event if you like it.
- Most of all, have fun!
"Badaptations"
Bad video game adaptations of TV shows, movies, songs, comics, etc. You can't make an adaptation of another video game, though!
Remember: you have 5 hours, spent between now and 11:59pm UTC, to make your game!
Remember: "If there is good reason to suspect you used entire swathes of content that you prepared for another game to make your entry, you likely won't win."
Winners to be determined! All participants who submit a game will receive the Dino Achievement. The judges will choose the official winner of the event; he or she will receive the Fred Flinstone Achievement. After the event concludes, there will also be a voting period for the User's Choice winner; this fan favorite will win the Barney Rubble Achievement.
So please, come down and join the party on June 3rd and see what you can do in 5 hours to mark 5 years of RMN history.

Hmm? What do you mean? If you wrote a program for the game, that's fine - you were working on the program, not the game.

I'm about two hours in! I don't even know what I'm making though.
I made a few graphics which I rushed to finish and I finished making a few maps. Now I'm putting through a story as I go but I don't even know where it's going! Oh well the good news is I'll have something done in time.

Yeah, that's what it's all about; winging it! I'll be figuring something out in the morning. Who knows what it'll end up being, but I'm thinking it'll be 24-related haha.
As for those sitting out because of the theme: please remember that it can be an adaptation of anything outside of video games - even your own life or some sort of mundane event. You can be creative with the theme! And even though using lots of stuff from your other projects is frowned upon, it won't disqualify you from getting a participation achievement or even getting a shot at the most popular!
If only I had one hour more :P well, My 5 hours are gone so good luck every one else ;) (I hope there is a project as crappy as mine hahahaha)

Once you know the theme, you have 5 hours. You could spend it watching the Twilight movies, if you want, but you still only get 5 hours.

they should need to make direct upload for the event entry or a specific event profile page so it going to be easier for participants will upload their entry without any problem... since participants need have 24 hours to upload their files and how fast every admin, moderator to response to those game profile...
