Yeah logic dictates the latter option is the better one. I'm only a university student half the time anyway.
Should be an interesting couple of years. Here's hoping I don't suffer a mental breakdown or anything.

The only reason to play Drakengard is to see how much Cavia hates you and everything you stand for, especially with later endings. The way to experience Drakengard without the god awful gameplay is to read the LP and let somebody else suffer for you while delivering the highlights of the game! Also it's hilarious

Comedy gold. A lot of the archive is hit-or-miss in my experience, but that LP almost (almost) makes me want to try playing Drakengard again to experience the masochistic hilarity first-hand.
Also, I love the LP Archives new(er) layout. Super rad
So I was at an aquarium showing a bunch of different species living in the ocean. One building was about reefs, what lives in them, tons of interesting shit. All while playing the Ecco the Dolphin Sega CD and Defender of the Future soundtrack. I only noticed it when it starting playing the music for Welcome to the Machine (or one of the variants, the SegaCD has about five or so similar tracks).

i just bought this on ebay. it's the GBC port of my favourite game of all time, Quest 64.
read the back of the box- whoever wrote it has either never played the game or is an absolute genius. or some sick combination of both.
or the packaging has become self-aware
regardless, 40$ well spent. now i just won't eat for a few days

Holy jesus, I never even looked at the back of that box when I looked at it in the store. If the game is half as fun as that box is funny, I'm going to have to add that damn thing to my list.
Also, Quest 64 was always a guilty pleasure of mine.
After reading through an LP of it, I had a desire to play it again - but I couldn't. The LP was on an emulator, where everything was sharp and crisp. My N64 on my plasma makes the whole game look like it has a coating of vaseline now... oh sad day.

It didn't seem like a discussion though. What is there to discuss? How much better you are than me at making RPG battles? It's more of a "here's how to make a battle system interesting". It a cool system, the end.

But the question is about the mechanics of his game, not the general idea/concept that his mechanics are based on. The type of discussion you sparked up in the blog belongs on the game page because it only applies to his game.
If it was put forth in a different way I can see it being a discussion. It's the fact that the only thing to talk about is his game.

I gotta' agree with Link on this one(big surprise there) it really wasn't much of a discussion, it was a show & tell.
Maybe if you(Craze) made a discussion post about making battle systems interesting, then casually brought yours in for a great example, then I can see that working.
But really, what you did Craze, did belong in a blog post.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that you were waay too straight forward about it.

Fair enough, but the original point was about where it was posted.
I guess I did suggest it couldn't garner discussion. I was thinking about a different kind of discussion. Not a discussion about his game but a discussion about game mechanics in general. As it seemed like that was Craze's original intent.
