WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

ahaha didn't think your job would be below the minimum wage x)
welcome to the wonderful world of internships
It's not really like I had a choice, to be honest. At least here in the UK, with 60-100+ applications for every graduate job, one has to go that extra mile to make themselves stand out.
The pay isn't THAT bad when considering the fact that it adds up to £1000 a month, which covers rent, food and other expenses fairly easily. For the first time in my life I'm pretty much completely financially independent, so that's a plus I guess.

Hey, at least you're a bit better off. Some of the internship here don't even pay yo.
and you were complaining wtf (just converted it to HKD, seems pretty good for an internship to me)

it is literally minimum wage (for 21+ year olds) though, i.e. £6.19 an hour. Cashiers working at McDonald's, no offence to them, earn as much...
...
Okkkkkay. Did NOT expect your minimum wage to be that high. Converted it from GDP (and if I'm correct) the minimum wage is twice and a little more than ours over here.

Well, I guess if you judge it like any other internship it'd look like that, but (disclaimer: I'm not trying to sound condescending) considering I'm working at the same level (i.e. performing the same duties) as employees with several years' experience, and that too in a programming job of all things, I think I'd be entitled to more than minimum wage.
With that said, I do acknowledge that it's hard for pretty much everyone at the moment. However that shouldn't have a knock-on effect on wages - people should be entitled to an amount proportional to the work they do.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I remember reading that IT internships are usually paid, so that's not unusual - though I believe internships in most other fields are unpaid. I'm jelly that your minimum wage is so high though.
author=Yellow MagicI worked at loew wages during internships/workterms. Doesn't matter - it's the experience and connections that matter. Without them you are kinda hosed when you want to join the workforce for realz. But I have friends earning twice or thrice the amount I do, thanks to them working at investment banks/investment management companies - even though they're just interns too. I'm kinda jealous. :(
