Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

I'm gonna say it right now: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for PC fucking rules. Best Point and Click adventure ever.

I don't remember ever playing a point and click HP game for PC. I do remember playing 3D puzzle platformer HP games for PC. and the first three of those are pretty good. The ones after that start copying the movies too much and focus less on exploring Hogwarts, making them pretty dull and uninteresting. Might as well just watch the movies then.

A movie --> game series that does work in my opinion is the lego series. Those games are a lot of fun to play, because they don't literally copy the movies scene for scene, and do focus on exploration; trying to 100% each level after unlocking more characters gives a lot of replay value.

Yeah, the 3D one is the one I'm talking about. It's essentially a point and click game.

I should get out of bed even if I'm sick to work on programing for a point and click game...

You should. The best thing to do when you're sick is to stay active. Disease survives longer on a stagnant host. probably

There's an abandoned Kroger shopping cart outside my neighbor's house who apparently doesn't live there anymore. We don't have any homeless people in the neighborhood so that kind of scratches that off the list, so how the fuck did that cart get there?

Does someone know I work at Kroger and now they're trying to fuck with me? Well, jokes on them; if it's still there by the time I leave for work, I'm riding that sumbitch down there. Free transit, yes!

Yes. There are plenty of bad Sushi joints near my place. It sucks.
It is impossible to get good yakisoba in my city.

Sushi restaurants are a dime in dozen where I live, and there are some great ones like Kabuki. The only time I've ever been disappointed in Japanese food was when I try the restaurants outside of California.

Our country's Consumer Association did a survey of over 20 sushi restaurants around the country. On average they scored around a 4.5/10. Yes, I've seen bad Japanese food.

There are a few really good Japanese restaurants too though. They, of course, are expensive as heck.

I just saw The Force Awakens
Before the movie started...
There was this group of a-holes sitting behind me discussing spoilers they read online and crap about the next movies yadda yadda.
I was livid and had to spend around thirty minutes with my fingers in my ears.
Ever since the Marvel CU has been growing to such a size that they plan ahead and crap, I've become so used to knowing everything there is to know about the movie I'm sitting in waiting to see.
So I've decided Ant-Man onwards to avoid reading about movies in general, and avoid commercials and stuff. If I'm interested, I'll see it, based on the first trailer. No speculation or anything else. Just try and forget about it. Then there I was, a blank canvas, and these asses yapped on and on.

Just be happy the projector didn't break.

Also, Final Fantasy VIII just went on sale on Steam! It's a Christmas miracle! :D

I also got the "Magician" achievement before fighting Ifrit. Isn't the Draw command just the greatest?

Haha, had the reel snap during Lord or the Rings, cut back in after thirty minutes, straight to spoilers.

I thought the PC ports of 7 and 8 were supposedly terrible? midi music that on pc sounds nothing like the original and controls that don't work well with keyboard and mouse and all? Maybe I heard wrong, I dunno.

I'm also not sold on the whole 'having to be logged into a square enix server in order to play a single player game' thing.

If they're good though, I'll still definitely be getting both of them. Never played them before, so I've been looking forward to a chance like this.
afaik, the PC version of 7 ain't bad, bar the round black holes that serve for mouths.

Wasn't the PC port of FF7 notorious for being unstable, though? I dunno, I defeintly recall owning/playing the PC port of FF7 back in the day, and it always crashed at the video with Weapon waking up, and the Highwind hightailing it out of there. You know, part of the scene where Cloud gives Sephiroth the Black Materia on Disk 2?
Can't PC games be modded, though? I hear there's a mod for the Steam version of ff7 to make the 3d models more up to date. If they could fix all the other issues within the games, I bet they would be considered the definitive versions of each installment... Seriously, if someone fixed the PC versions of ff5 and ff6 to a point in which they didn't resemble some crappy mobile port, I'd get the Steam versions in a heartbeat. But until that happens I'd rather stick with the ones that I already own.

In terms of FF8 on PC, the only thing I'm disappointed in is the inability to set the controls to Enter for Menu like I did in FF7. It makes it slightly more wonky to play but still doable. Just got done (well, I went to the bathroom afterward) Drawing Siren out of Mr. VacuumFace and a handful of Double magics and I'm about to start running away from the Spider Mech without any potions. I'm going to try to hit him a few times first to see what happens.
