WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

I have no idea what fan translations you folks have seen, all fan translations I've seen were high quality.
AAI2's fan localization is some fucking pro work that's on par with the work done with the rest of the series. If you're interested in the game then I'd whole heartedly recommend it (AAI2 is also a good game and recommended to anybody that enjoys the AA series).
Can i play the fan localization in my DS? I've got an R4.
I can't comment on flash card protection, I just used a DS emulator (including having to map a button to the microphone for about 5 seconds). I don't know if the original game had any protection or if the localization stripped it, if any.
I am still Irked I can't get SaGa 3 on my flashcart. They released a fixed version of SaGa two that worked on flashcarts, but not 3.
Using a DS emulator is ... sub optimal, at least for the kind of computer I can bring to bear.

...that Tales of Phantasia fantrans back in the day was so bad. So so bad. XD
There really were some truly terrible ones, but nowdays you don't really find horribad ones any more.

Because I love his work: Tomato has an ongoing comparison between FF4's Japanese text and its original localization including some extra comparisons between the PS1, GBA, and a fan translation from way back when. It, and the rest of Legends of Localization, is a fantastic read if you're at all interested in old video game localization.
Localizing entertainment is difficult at the best of times. Between radically different languages like Japanese and English, poor communication between the original team and localizers, and strict timetables all made it worse. There was also a dumb mentality of how to do it back in the day too, like including lots of obnoxious pop culture references or forcing VAs to use lip sync to another language. I'm glad with how much things have improved since the early days of video game localizations.

Thanks, i was actually looking for a good quality pic like that. I want to make my own version that says something like "If you're a loser like me then it's ok".

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

'Complaining about the butter eh? That's very disloyal to our king and his wonderful expertise on dairy products. Perhaps a knife in the genitals would improve your wild opinions on the quality of butter?'
What game is that and why is it too good?
Stuff I promised to do a while back but have not so far...
Sigh. The feeling when you simply tell yourself that your projects are just higher priority.
Time for a good old brain checklist.

The thought prevailing in my head is "leave me alone", and has been for some time. I'm not really sure if I understand the underlying process behind it. It could, simply, be a symptom of depression. I know I've had thoughts of cancelling Nakaishi Wars. It's been going nowhere, and I literally have no clue where to go with it.

That doesn't look good at all. The mapping is mediocre at best.
I don't think it's good mapping, but it's not mediocre, mediocre would be broken mapping with bigger issues, this is just below average unappealing mapping.

Not trying to be a grammar Nazi here, but mediocre does mean average or not very good. It doesn't mean horrible or anything like you said. You can google the word.

I'm pretty sure that's not grammar. Spelling or dictionary nazi would be more suitable I guess?
But yeah that's what mediocre means. And that map does indeed look very mediocre. It could be better if it was smaller and had less empty space.
