While I hate many design decisions they made(I want my offline SP baaaack, /sob), I am REALLY looking forward to this game, since D2:LOD is my n.1 game of all time and I played it for thousands of hours over the years (only single-player too!).
These will be the longest two months EVER. Have to survive until then.
Anyone else really excited for this game (even though Blizzard pissed many people off with many changes)?

I, too, am dismayed at the lack of offline single player and the lack of a Pause button.
But I'll probably still enjoy it. Maybe. (I guess we'll see!)

I'm on the Runic Games/Torchlight wagon now and don't feel terribly interested at all in Diablo 3.
Some folks I spoke to who beta tested it said that the beta felt "off" in the sense that you could tell that it was made by a whole new crew of people. I guess it's good, but it doesn't have the same magical aura to it.
I'll hold out for a bit and see what others are saying about it after release before I think about making the plunge any getting it.

I played the beta and I have to agree I wish they would have allowed offline single player play. I will play the game as if I am playing single player anyway, because if you play with others you can end up skipping some parts.
I can't wait for it to come out though; the beta was awesome and I'll be buying it on release day!

The post is overly optimistic, but when you think about it, it makes some darn good points about D3 being superior.

Well, all of my friends seem to be preo-rdering this game.
It is funny because they originally hated Diablo, but I got them hooked on the previous two games. Now there's Diablo 3 which I've been kind of cold towards, yet they are really gung ho for it.
I think I will pre-order it as well otherwise the peer pressure will pile up and probably kill me.
PS - Open beta from April 20 to April 23.

I just bought this today. Heres hoping it dominates 2. All the games seem to get better and better so im hoping i didnt waste 60 bucks.

EDIT: I played the beta and thought it was terrible. I also don't like D2/the genre, so my opinion is simply... solidified.

Under the promise of a Diablo 3 party with booze and hot tubs I bought a copy (and got the guy who's hosting the party to not play the game until the party with me). I'll post angry words if I don't like it (I have a lot of these about D1+2)
Semantics are unimportant, I just know I'm out $60.
