The pic of the moment.. How does that work?
I'm guessing it's whatever screenshot is garnering the most comments.
Like
-Numbered notices :)
-Dropdown menus. These were long overdue.
-The thin banners for NaGaDeMo, Misaos, etc. Time will tell if these are a worthy substitute for the old method of announcing.
-Expanded random screenshots :D
Dislike
-Being the Featured Game is no longer the honor it once was, as it's just one of four alternating graphics now (I mentioned this last update, but now it's even worse as the switching is automatic).
-The Spotlight graphics are still partially overridden by the faded text bg. Surprised nothing was done to fix this.
-Embedded video on the front page :| Just more stuff to load every visit to the home page.
-The homepage is becoming too vertical for it's own good.
-Opera doesn't like the layout of the site, but I consider it the cost of using my obscure browser.
Anyway, I'm just an old crunk who hates the new.

I use Opera and did all of the css tweaks in opera dragonfly.
Spotlight graphics obscuring is more my lack of photoshop skillz more than anything.
POTM is the featured image. its not automatic. i should start a recommendation thread for it in feedback. i have no timetable for switching it yet. weekly? bi-weekly? monthly?

I noticed the change when it told me the number of notifications I have.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Oh man, no one is raging about this? A new precedent.
Check out the Games section. The featured game is now at the top of that page too. And on that page it's the only one up there, it doesn't cycle.

Maybe for a next update, based on each user, a "disable" feature that allows them to disable stuff on the home page, so that it loads quicker. Videos, images and so on. So they choose what they see when they go there.
Also one other update being that when hitting the RMN logo it always takes me to the home page. Is it at all possible that if you're on the forums, the logo takes you back to the forums home page? Not the home page of the entire site? Then when you're searching for games and such, the logo will take you back to the home page of that?

From a usability and transparency standpoint it's pretty important that the site logo take you to the main page.
In my Locker the files keep defaulting to sorting by date. I prefer having it set to sort by name. Is this a bug or the way it was meant to be?
and I don't see any way to sort in the Thumbnail view

What about if you click it, and 2 words pop up as an overlay, OVER the logo that says
Home, and Forums, that you can click on? (Both words being 2 links, basically.)
It might take it a second or 2 longer to get to either/or, but then it's one logo used for both.

There's already a button that works like this, and even stays pinned to the top of the screen just like the logo does. It's the back button in your browser. If you hold it down for a second you can get back to the pages you came from.

Yeah. I could, but little bit of something to say. I know you're a respected member, who may also contribute to the site, but I suggest you stop being a douche every time you feel an idea is stupid and not worthy to what you think the site should be. You're not that smart enough, or good enough on this site for people to have to take douche like comments.
I'm making a suggestion. Nothing wrong with it. If you think it's taking up time that could be spent thinking of other suggestions, push that little "back button" of yours, and make something. God forbid it doesn't pertain to the likes of people who get stuck up the moment they don't like something.
Back to the topic. Same thing could be said about the people who USE the logo to get back to the home page, so it's a bit irrelevant that you're saying that to me.
Idea is just to add 2 quicker ways together, to get from both the forums home page and the site home page. Rather than "pushing back" 50 times, or having to go through the home page when you forget that the logo takes you all the way back there.
People will click that more, thinking it will take them back, than to click on "Community" and "Forums" because of the size. They see that first, and instinct takes over. Can't say it never happened to you. Pretty sure you've done it sometime during your stay on this site. Everyone has, and will continue doing so, and be annoyed when they realized they did it.
I know I've hit that a fair share of times thinking it by instinct alone, even though I'v been here awhile. If it takes 2 more seconds, in replace it can go to both of what I've listed, so be it. Myself and pretty sure a fair share of others, small, worthless update or not, could handle such trivial matters.

Also, maybe you didn't get the memo but the forums have never been considered anything near a centerpiece in RMN. There was even talk of removing the forums outright at several points in RMN's history.
Basically:

Couldn't you just...hover over community and click forums?

You can also right click. Its faster. Yep.
The idea of a list of shortcuts was recently thrown out there: something like a drop-down menu on the top bar, where you could have a set list (maybe 5) of shortcuts. So say you want a shortcut to a certain topic, one to the forums, one to a certain game, another to the review page and one to the Welp forum, you could.
It's a nifty idea, and they could be changeable through settings. Thoughts?

Hmm. What if that list is set based on "individuals" so they can choose their shortcuts? That may be a cool idea.
Uh, yeah? Hence why the eclectic example I put up. I'm thinking you copy the location from the address bar and add it to one of a number of slots in your account list of shortcuts. The defaults could just be to each portal. And changing would be as simple as copy/pasting an address.
Well I thought you meant for everyone, it being the same.
