HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY MAPS ?

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The stairs are supposed to go "up" to the doors, however, the doors are level with the bases of the walls to the sides of the doors. The bases of the walls are touching the ground, whereas the doors are touching the tops of the stairs, several feet above the ground. So to make it look correct, the walls to the sides of the doors need to come down about one tile further than where they stop now. Like this:
The way you handled the building's size looks good. It's a good map overall. The shadows next to the little stone ledges on the sides of the doors are still messed up - they should be semi-transparent.

Thanks :P Also, I noticed that the windows are kinda small, so I decided to change things up a bit. Is this better ?
Or I should keep the doors like before and just change the windows ?
And for the shadow, I tried fixing it but it just doesn't work. The only thing I could do is use Firework and erase that purple shadow, or simply leave it alone.

I think it would look odd if the doors were identical to the windows. So if you're using those taller windows, then don't change the doors back to how they before.
If you can't make the shadow transparent, then yes, go ahead and erase it. Lots of things in RPG Maker don't have shadows, so the ledge lacking a shadow won't stand out. But that crazy non-transparent shadow really stands out.

OK, I am having a bit trouble deciding which kinds of windows to choose... And is it okay if the windows are bigger than the doors ? :D

Go with this one:
Also, unless your game takes place in the mushroom kingdom, get rid of the mario pipes and the mario flag.

Hm... I 'll reconsider between the two...
And the Mario pipes kinda look like a trashcan so I thought it was fine. Should I still remove it ?
I used the Mario flag as the school 's flag, but I might move it to a park just for fun. :D

Yes, remove the Mario stuff, find a real trashcan
OK, I deleted them. But one thing I am curious, why is the one with the black windows better than the other one ?
Wouldn't the one with the white windows be closer to an actual design ?
Maybe like the original Yasogami High School :

That works too. I don't know why I picked the other, except that it was less boring to have two different types of windows up there. But looking at it now, it doesn't make sense to have the darker windows, because they imply that the lights are out in those rooms, which is of course not the case during the school day.
You should be making the houses wider - roof wise. How many houses do you see that are taller than they are wide? Seriously? Make the roofs at least two or three tiles bigger to at least give the illusion of there being an inside. And the top house... you need to fix the tiles used for the walls. They're terrible.
Also, dirt paths or paths of some kind from the doors to a sidewalk (which you seem to be missing, btw), to show where people walk. Any grassy area that is walked on often will eventually become a dirt path of some type.

Select grass tile, select bucket tool, hold shift key, click on each grass area. This will make the grass go right up to the edges of the houses and the pavement.
Then select dirt tile, select bucket tool, don't hold shift key, and click on the dirt path, to fix the edges between the dirt and grass.

Uh... Not sure if I misunderstand you, but I usually see houses that are wider than how tall they are. Make the roofs 2 or 3 tiles bigger... !?

I don't know if I did it right...

You did it right for the grass, I think LockeZ suggested you did NOT hold shift for the earth so it looks like a path made by the trampling of people'feet.

House size looks much better. The edges between the grass and the building/road now look correct. The edge between the dirt path and the grass looks wrong now. The bottom edge of the dirt path looks right but the top edge doesn't. You didn't follow my instructions. You shift-bucket-filled one section of grass and then didn't touch any of the sections of dirt, instead of shift-bucket-filling all the sections of grass and then normal-bucket-filling all the sections of dirt.
I'm sure you know how it's supposed to look, it's just a matter of getting it to look like that. Maybe you should just experiment with the shift key until you learn how it works... The shift key means "don't autotile". I've told you exactly how to do it twice in this thread now, so if you still can't figure it out, just screw around with it until you get it.

I did follow what you said and I know how the shift key works. I just had a hard time understanding what you were trying to get it to look like. :|
Is that correct ?
What about the size of the streets ?

The size of the streets are fine, but you do need sidewalks. Also, now the house looks much better. You're also learning to use the tricks of the trade.
Next part? Add some longer grass, plants and trees. Not too many, but some so that it doesn't look so bare. Think of it this way - the grass you currently have is newly cut grass - just mowed. There's longer grass for those yards that aren't as cared for. Also, fences~

I intended the sidewalks to be those yellow ground tiles, is that okay ?
Yeah, I 'll add some more plants and grass stuff, that was just temporary layout. And fences ? Hm... I will add fences or walls surrounding a few houses, since not all the houses have them.
