Hopefully so, Adon. I guess I should risk it, for the better of the town.

Cave, you aren't selling yourself in the right way. If you truly want to deceive, you should probably act like your town some more. Why does it feel like there are some people who are inactive? Maybe this game isn't as large as the others~~
I don't even know what that post is supposed to mean, Adon.
Why are so few people scumhunting. Are Kyrsty and YM even here. Oh well. It's probably this guy ##vote wildwes

Every player has posted at this point, but there are 3 players who have been minimally active (2 posts or less). It is, then, not out of the question that at least a percentage of the actual scum has been lurking so far. It would be a very tactical decision.

Cave, just pointing out that #vote is ambiguous command. It should be either #lynch or #elect.
Too many posts... ;~;
So Cave's claim was fake(obviously), Liberty's plan is too risky, and a Wildwes lynch probably isn't happening.
#Cancel
A fair point.

My plan might be risky but it's not as risky as letting someone control the vote themselves. This way it's controlled by a majority vote, not just one person.
And if you think I'm scum Cave, put your money where your mouth is. Because I'm not and I'm not afraid to put forward ideas that could help town instead of shooting everything down. You think it's a bad plan? Come up with a better one that keeps the double-vote out of play or in the hands of town.
Town = majority at this point.

i didn't say you were scum. It actually keeps the double vote out of the hands of the hands of the town and puts it into the collective hands of town and scum, since you are saying that the person who is sheriff should never vote unless the majority say they should, essentially making it possible for the scumteam to potentially manipulate the doublevote without even having to actually make a case (ex:yeah I think it is a good idea to use the vote on ____) and should get lynched if they do. It needlessly dilutes town's voting power, because this entire problem is solved if we just elect someone who is town in the first place to be the sheriff. Using basic scumdar abilities to find someone who is town and put the power in their hands is an infinitely better idea than trying to game the system in a way that actually hurts us.
Which brings me to a point I made in a previous post, just made now, and have to make again because nothing sinks in unless you say it five. hundred times. I already did come up with a better plan: It's vote for the person who you think is town. Even make a case for them. Since I am not likely to become sheriff, I am voting for Trihan because I think he's been protown so far, has not contradicted himself, and has generally struck me as genuine. Also, he has proven himself to be acceptably competent. I am also voting for Trihan because even if he is scum none of this furUACKING MATTERS UNTIL MYLO!!!!!!
LIBERTY!!!!! WHO IS ON THE SCUMTEAM!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't want Liberty to be sheriff - it's a crap idea. I think I'd rather Cave over her especially since I'm suspect of Trihan.

Not that I'm claiming to be the paragon of innocent behaviour here or anything Gourd, but what makes you suspect me?
I'm pretty sure CAVE is town now, but I'm wary of electing him as sheriff because after my original objection to doing so it's going to make me look bad if I go back on it.
Honestly, I have no idea who to throw my lot in with. However, looking at it logically, this can only have one of two outcomes: either we make a townie the sheriff, or we make a townie one. As nobody has any actual evidence to support their alignment, the likelihood of each outcome is pretty much equal (barring "evidence" obtained from careful monitoring of what people are and are not saying).
With this in mind, given that the day 1 sheriff election is pretty much a crapshoot, I'm choosing my vote completely at random (//echo $active $rand(1,13) in IRC...and I get 7).
##Elect Dudesoft
I'm not gonna do the same for my lynchvote since the consequences of getting that wrong are a bit worse. We're probably not going to reach a majority today by the looks of it, and there's nobody right now for whom I would say YES YOU ARE CLEARLY SCUM. Therefore...

That's either we make a townie sheriff, or we make a wolf one. Sorry.
Sorry I've posted barely anything of substance, guys. Now that it's the weekend I should be good for a while.
I've just read through this thread and it's kinda shocking that there's been so little of substance over the last couple pages.
With regards to electing the sheriff, do we HAVE to elect one? If not, then why on Earth do we need a "guard" for the double-vote?
I also noticed that PlatinumAshes did the whole ratios thing that is so common amongst Mafia/Werewolf teams. Combined with the eagerness to elect someone at this early stage in the game, I think I'm ready to cast my vote.

If we don't elect a sheriff, Jeroen will choose one for us at random. I'd rather screw things up because I made a choice than do it because I did nothing.
Oh...oh, shit. My bad!
When I think about it, though, wouldn't a random sheriff help out in a way? Judging by their voting patterns - not being able to casually vote for a fellow Werewolf to keep us off their trail - it might prove a feasible way of picking out suspects.

Judging their voting patterns*
That's kind of why I made my election vote random. It's functionally the same thing as Jeroen will do if we don't choose someone, but at least I cast a vote.
PA is an okay lynch, but wildwes is better for reasons previously outlined. ##lynch wildwes although I will switch to PA if need be.

also, why are you electing randomly. Is there nobody in this game who you think is town?
