DOES OPERATING SYSTEM TYPE EFFECT VX ACE?

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The build-in download pause buttons for browsers tend to not work with file-storage sites, because as soon as you pause it, the site sees that your connection broke and closes the link to the file and won't let you open it back up. You have to get the download manager for that particular site. If you just pause the download on your own, it loses it.
Uploaded.net is the worst about this, if you have slow wifi and it has to make two attempts to connect, it'll count that as a download attempt and lock you out of the site for three hours. Or if your laptop goes into sleep mode or if the download is going slow enough that it goes a few seconds without receiving information, it'll do the same thing.

Luckily, I don't think game front is like that. I can pretty much go there and download stuff anytime I want.
Then again, I don't have to suffer slow wi-fi so maybe this is a matter of privilege.
I could simply burn my game onto a cd and send it to certain people via mail but that endeavor would actually end up costing me money. (Because I'd want the cd itself to be safe & secure so I'd pay for good packaging. That and I'd have to pay more if a certain person lived far away.)
You could get a dropbox account and host it there. That way you just add their account to that folder and they can download over time if they want. ;p
All they need to do is get an account, accept your invitation to the folder and let it download in the background while doing other stuff. Any edits you make to that folder will result in an instant update when they're online, so they'll always have the newest copy. ^.~
And you get 2GB free on sign-up, so unless your game is super huge it's not an issue of size~
EDIT: It's also just a case of editing whatever is in your dropbox folder (yes, just like a normal computer folder but anything put in there is shared with whoever has access to your folder) and connecting to the internet to upload. Easy as pie.
Also, you can download from RMN to your DB folder too, if there's issues downloading from the site. XP

You could host it on RMN. It's not over 450 MB, it'll fit fine...
Well, I do have issues due to my internet. I almost never have problem with downloading from RMN directly. And yeah, as LockeZ was saying, you can pause download if needed. From almost every else, it can be a bit of a tossup, especially when my bandwidth is throttled as it is now. It doesn't matter what browser I'm using.

My game is more than 2 GB so drop box ain't an option I'm afraid.

When I tried uploading my game directly from my pc to RMN it simply said "connecting" and would not give me any progress data at all. Aka, no uploading bar or anything else. After many failed attempts I uploaded it on game front. My pc might be brain-damaged or maybe my connection is simply "okay" but not "great".

Wish I could be accommodating to everyone but until I find a way to upload my game here my options are limited as well. Hopefully that doesn't translate as "Oh,you're just being a lazy prick,Broken!" lol.

Sorry Broken, but isn't your download "only" 355.72 MB? Thus, you can definitely use Dropbox. It was also within the limits of what RMN can handle. Anyway, the good thing about Dropbox is that since it uses its own proprietary program, it doesn't have the issues related to browser downloading, so the downloaders choosing it shouldn't get incomplete files.
Also, for your reference the Ace RTP is about 185 MB so you could consider including a RTP independent version in your next releases would be a good idea.
...wait what?
Your game is over 2 Gigabytes? But you were trying to add it to RMN which has a limit of 450 Megabytes? o.O
I think I see why it wasn't loading to the site, dude~ ^.^;
I also see why your friend might have trouble downloading. Files that big are a hassle to download in one large lump unless you've got decent internet connection. Maybe try making a group of zip files so that it's broken into manageable chunks for your pal instead?
Also, if you use Chrome while uploading to RMN there should be a progress bar shown. I'm not sure, but I think Anky was going to look at an on-site progress bar... or it's on the list of (many) enhancements to be made to the site in the future.
EDIT: "You're a ninja, edchuy!" (to be read in Hagrid's accent)
Also, there is a script out there that will take only the files that have been used in the game and tell you what they are. That way you can delete any files that haven't been used and cut down on size that way. I only recommend this after you're sure that there are no more revisions to be made to the game, though, and make sure you get the right script (there's two of them I think. One works, one misses evented graphics/sounds/music. The newest one is the correct one, if you can find it. I think they're both on RMW somewhere, though.)

I found it:
Resource Checker by Tsukihime
Go figure why Tsukihime hasn't submitted it to RMN.
Uh, that's the one that doesn't check events. There's a newer one out there. (That one only checks certain areas. I'll see if I can't dig up the other.)
Try https://www.mediafire.com/ you can get up too 50GB of extra free space, and I beleive you start with 6GB?
I actually have 56GB of free uploading space on it, and it has a downloadable version.

RMN doesn't have a progress bar for uploads. You basically have to wait it out before it gives you the "upload complete" message. Though, isn't a progress bar a feature in consideration for

Actually I believe the loading bar is a little thing in the lower left corner (at least for me) and it displays how far the download/upload is.

Hmmmm. This lends credence to my "not looking in the right place" theory.

It depends on your browser, apps, settings and the like whether you get an upload/download bar at all. It's not built into the actual pages themselves as far as I'm aware, but it's been a while since I last uploaded a game file.

Even without a download/upload bar all I really need is patience. That seems to be the general gist of it.
Yes, it really is 4:16 where I am. Welp,I usually don't have many plans for Sundays anyway!
Well I use Google Chrome, and it always shows a percentage for the uploads in the lower left corner.
Maybe it's just a chrome thing I guess?

For Firefox, I discovered an ADD-ON that brings up an upload progress window similar to the download progress one. Having something that tells the progress is useful because otherwise you have to be patient until it's done (unless something goes wrong), with no feedback during the process. I can imagine that's pretty useful for uploading files the sizes we're talking about.

Strange. I have both google chrome & Firefox. Aka, I should see something. I might have to change something in my settings.

That will actually be helpful, thanks! As of late I've used firefox more and more often.
