COMEBACK NUB "AT WORK?"

Hi all! :)
My name is Daniel, age 25. I used to make a few quick/small/bad projects within the 30 day trial of rpg maker (xp prefered) whenever setting up a new system xD
And now I'm on it again, it's weekend after all and I'm in the mood.
I registered mainly to ask for precise help (with not exactly difficult questions, since I never got far within a few days as you can imagine).
I hope y'all can help me a little with my ideas ^.^
p.s: shame there are no copies of rpg maker (xp?) in stores. I just don't trust download content enough to pay for :(

are you fucking kidding me
Enterbrain won't steal your money if that's what you are concerned about. Usually you can trust sites that sell stuff digitally unless it's run by a Nigerian prince.
Anyways, welcome to RMN. I'm the friendly neighborhood sociopath who beats up kids with crowbars in his spare time.
those emotes. I'm already pretty sure I will hate you and consume all of your tacos and cola.
and i'm guy who shits on your dreams
just buy the damn program, but get vx ace because xp has nothing going for it other than the three layers? maaaaaannnnnn
but uh yeah have fun .

Why was I expecting those kind of "welcomes" *rolleyes*
No, I'm not kidding, and no I'm not the kind "I want free stuff so I'll make up excuses for not buying something". Actually there are only 3 discs in my household that I copied (vs 500 movies and 300 games for several consoles). Those are music cds i also own original, but wanna play in a different stereo/room.
Also, I'm not concerned "Enterbrain will still my money". It's not about trust, but possible(?) issues when having limited knowledge of how digital copies actually work. @elitists: Sorry for not pretending to know everything in the first place o.O
Given the circumstance you are getting completely new Computers from time to time, and maybe using multiple pcs (e.g. one at your parents place, one at your girlfriends one at home and one at college), also setting up the system new every few weeks for viral and/or security issues (I will have to do this these days, and I certainly don't wanna purchase digital data today to remove it tomorrow and try get it again, do I?)
- How often can I kill an HDD and redownload, install, activate the software with the same code (only once?)
- How many systems can it be installed and used on "at the same time" (well not used at the same time since I don't plan to distribute it... rather have it ready to be used)
- Do you end up contacting people and asking for renewed activation codes over and over (do you get them?)
- Are there hardware and/or ip checks
- etc. pp. in short: might the anti-piracy guidelines interfere?
The "Oh no, he didn't pay by now, I'm gonna flame" part aside, thanks for the heartwarming welcome ^^
Hmmm I didn't check out vx ace. But I prefered xp over regular vx in the past.
a) exactly for the layers. I need that for my nuby mapping :(
b) the ways to add/import materials/ressources.
VX seemed to offer only 5 tilesets or so, xp unlimited?
That's the overall feeling the different makers aroused,
xp appeared to offer more possibilities with easier handling
Again please take into consideration not everyone is as familiar with these things as you might be... I always apreciate friendly advice, that's why I registered in the first place. Keep the less friendly stuff to yourself, or tell someone else maybe :p
It's very smart to only pick on kids, otherwise you could happen to run into a gunfight with a knife... or crowbar
That doesn't qualify to make you an individual at all :)
It's best to stick to nighttime dreaming anyways

author=DR1988Actually I've won multiple gunfights with a crowbar. I had to pause the time multiple times and have a mid-battle snack time in order to restore my health.

Sorry, I assumed you actually went out of mom's basement for that crowbar action... my bad :o
@kersty+kent: Soooo you guys expect someone in particular? Hands down, not me :(
Maybe I can stress your disapointment with a screenshot of the lousy
stuff I'm "working" on - 1337 GrAphiCz are as sweet as the first pong... maybe
as far as vx ace is concerned: and there's a simple "import" button for mentioned tileset? Can they be of huge size? Been a long time (note: "comeback") since I had a look at the regular vx, but iirc this part was the major letdown that scared me away (Although I prefered the cutsy JRPG looks of the rtp over xp)

If I may criticize a bit, being fellow newbies and all, I love the layout of this cathedral's courtyard. I think it's a pretty detailed set up, but what I have qualms about is the use of that, red table(?) next to the fountain. Aesthetically, it just doesn't look good next to the fountain (in my opinion). If you placed it somewhere else, or got rid of it entirely, I think it would make the map more appealing. It's like, kind of sticking out rather sorely.
That's my only qualms with this map. Otherwise it is a damn good map, very detailed. I love it. Anyway I am returning the favor of saying hi since you said hi in my thread. I hope you find my insight helpful (or not, it's your map after all).

Thanks. I guess it's somewhat okay, but still needs massive overhauling.I think it's a pretty detailed set up, but what I have qualms about is the use of that, red table(?) next to the fountain. Not exactly surprising. It's not a table, just a flag (the same as on the walls: represents an alliance with another castle). And strange enough, the blue flags can also be put on the ground, but not the red ones. I just layered it over a coat-tree xD No wonder that looks dumb. It's on my to-do-list along with the floating roofs of the north and south halls. I was thinking of pillars to have an outside-storey, but did not yet find anything that looks slightly believable. That's my only qualms with this map. Otherwise it is a damn good map, very detailed. I love it.
pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase, don't lie :pAnyway I am returning the favor of saying hi since you said hi in my thread. I hope you find my insight helpful (or not, it's your map after all).
Sure do. thanks
DR1988, don't worry about some of these people's posts. You can take them with a pinch of salt. Particularly Craze's. If you see his user title, it reads, "RMN's supervillain, and enjoying it". You know what that means.
Anyway, welcome to RMN!
Anyway, welcome to RMN!
Don't worry, I can take it :D
Nevertheless, thanks for caring and welcoming me ;)
It's not that I'm bothered by it at all, it's just that all this "troll+flame" lobby has become quite boring and way to big. It used to be funny when everyone was age 12, interwebs was kinda new, and some of those people were actually reaching their goal of being either hilariously funny or seriously upsetting somebody.
Nowadays it's just average and subpar imho xD
Again, despite my explanations I don't worry, I'm not surprised, offended or anything else. If it's fun for some, just let 'em try ^^

Hi and welcome to RMN!
1.) If you buy through STEAM or the forum store, it'd be in your Forum Client Area section. They key is always listed there. IIRC, you can activate it 7x. If too much, just pm support again and they'll reactivate your key. I recommend buying through one of those 2 just for keepsake. Technically if you buy through the store, you get an email with your key and you can always request it again if you lost it for some reason.
2.) Technically you should only install it in one PC. But Degica/Enterbrain doesn't really care as long as it's not like you're letting other people use it or something.
3.) Yes. Support Ticket. They're pretty fast and one of the mods here is actually in RM support. (aside from me).
4.) Hardware IP/Checks? It's really simple and I'm not really sure what's the issue with it. You only activate the key and register your name with it. That's it.
a.) VXAce still offers 3 layers but not as wieldy as Rm2k3/XP.
b.) VXAce has unlimited tilesets, that's not really an issue anymore.
c.) RGSS3. VXAce has a lot more support and power than XP could provide.
And I'm at the same vein as Kyrsty, I thought a certain someone finally returned. Guess not ;-;

Thank you :)

How long does it take on average to get a reaction, just briefly. Do you get your new code within 24h or rather a week?
2.) Technically you should only install it in one PC. But Degica/Enterbrain doesn't really care as long as it's not like you're letting other people use it or something.
I'm sure my mom and dad wouldn't even be dared, but how would "enterbrain know" if they don't monitor anything at all and I install 7 copies on 7 pcs ;) :p
3.) Yes. Support Ticket. They're pretty fast and one of the mods here is actually in RM support. (aside from me).
haha ok, scratched the intro ^^
4.) Hardware IP/Checks? It's really simple and I'm not really sure what's the issue with it. You only activate the key and register your name with it. That's it.
Oh ok. What I was aiming at is that some (mainly digital) purchases do get bound to hardware specs and/or track your ips to "prevent piracy". Or at least that's what rumours say, and I believe some software does that (like my nero from yeaaaaars back which would in no way run on any other system than the one it came with) :o

sounds promising if "they" did away with regular vxs flaws (= I guess I'll check it out when my xp trial expires, and once ace runs out I might be able to decide *lol*
And I'm at the same vein as Kyrsty, I thought a certain someone finally returned. Guess not ;-;
So there really was a user named "nub", huh? xD
