SO I BROKE RMN, BUT ANKYLO FIXED IT... IS RMN FASTER NOW?

Some of you may have noticed that RMN was down for a few hours. I was working in our DEV environment the last couple of days trying to improve the responsiveness and speed of RMN, because it was slower than molasses in January. Unbeknownst to me, ankylo also had a few fixes readied in DEV that required some changes to settings. So when I promoted the DEV code to PROD (the live site), I broke RMN because those settings ankylo needed weren't yet done in PROD. I had to wait for him to fix it because I had no idea what to do. :<

Anywho, Ankylo got back and fixed my mess and now RMN is working again. Is the site snappier for you? It seems snappier to me. Much snappier. Such fast. wow. ...relatively, anyway.

You might also notice that the frontpage got a minor revamp, and that the dev portal is a little cleaned up, too. You might need a hard refresh, though.

Thanks for being patient.

It seems to be loading much faster for me now, hopefully it stays this way! And I love the new front page.

Actually, yea, it's loading a lot faster than it has been the past week or two...
hrmm.... there are still kinks. The cache seems to be TOO aggressive now, such that updates aren't being reflected on the site until you manually refresh. For example, my notice bar didn't flash regarding slash's post until I did a refresh.

It's working a little faster for me. Hard to really notice it outright, but I feel like it's going a bit faster.

Also, good job on the homepage. The space is being used way more efficiently now.
It's much better for me than it was (I'm still missing the logos but that's on me, not you guys. I've given up on that for now, though. :/ )

Also, the front page revamp isn't too bad~

I probably need to fine tune the cache. And not use the whole site cache, just figure out what the best views for caching are and cache those. It wasn't really ready for production yet.. :-P

It's definitely a lot faster, which is nice. The front page looks screwy for me, though. Could it be a browser issue? (I'm using Chrome)

Either it's just me, or I'm logging in twice. As in the first attempt to log in doesn't seem to register.

The cache is too all-encompassing - the site cached your not-logged-in status and loaded that after you logged in.
It seems fast to me and the new front page is pretty :0
I like how there's more room for buzzing games, so POM is taking up a lower % of total buzz space ha
It is much faster for me, but where is LATEST SCRIPTS??
On the Development portal.
RMN being fast again feels... so weird! Really happy that everything's loading pretty quickly now since RMN was growing so slow that it was depressing. I almost became an alcoholic.

Speed of light, dawg. It's gonna be tough to get used to the lack of the 10-second delay before my posts are registered, though
Much faster now. I didn't have too much problems before, though it was certainly slower before the update.
I am sure we will all go back to being disappointed when Pom downloads pick up again.
