Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

I've decided upon most of the roles, and I think 12/13 people is probably the best size for this game.
If TurngerManU and Davenport verify whether they'll participate, we might already have enough players, but at least one person can still sign up.
Edit: It seems TungerManU won't be able to play, that means at least two more people can sign up.

I'm expecting one or two more people to sign up. I think I'll start the game this evening (GMT+1). The game will happen in this thread. I'm not going to create a separate thread for it.

I'm waiting for my final player to sign up. In the meantime, I'll start sending out role PMs.
PlatinumAshes
I am now certain that you are not scum and are just town trying to play scum as hard as possible.

author=Yellow Magicauthor=Jeroen_SolNah, it's the Miller's Hollow Mafia that you hosted - I wrongly accused PA on a number of occasions.author=Yellow MagicIs this about the role play mafia I missed? Did something happen?
Oh, it's PlatinumAshes. Sorry again about last time. :P
Haha, no problem, that wasn't really your fault since I was playing awfully that game. If I recall correctly, I was acting so suspiciously that town, the witch and the mafia all wanted to kill me. I was killed by the latter two in the same night xD

Please be aware that the story of the mafia game in no way represents the story of Game of Thrones. Do not make assumptions.
It was to be a time of festivities for Westeros. People from all over the world had flooded to King's Landing to bear witness to the unification of all Houses in the Seven Kingdoms. After years of civil unrest, a period of peace was finally upon the people of Westeros. It was, however, not meant to be. Several people were against the unification of the Houses, thinking civil wars could give them the opportunity to seize the Iron Throne. They started plotting to stop the unification together, and one night made their move.
Gourd_Clae, who was Eddard Stark, has died night 0!

Those who attended the party quickly found the body, his head chopped off, in the morning. After validating the alibis of most people attending, suspicion fell onto twelve attendees. Would the peace-loving attendees in that group of twelve be able to weed out those who plotted against the unification of the Houses of Westeros?
Day 1 starts now! It will end June 17th at noon GMT, in about 82.5 hours.
Not voting - 12: Dudesoft, JJJ7, wildwes, Ilan14, Arandomgamemaker, Yellow Magic, PlatinumAshes, Isrieri, Liberty, CashmereCat, Khameal, I-2-ISearchMe

Hey guys. Let me just start off by saying I am in no way knowledgeable about the Game of Thrones universe so most of what I say will be drivel. Let me tell you one thing, though, if you think you're gonna survive in this game longer than me, you're wrong. This game I plan to be the last man standing, even if it means my side will lose, I don't care. I'm really all about myself and not about any team winning.
That said, I wish you luck because I know you're going to need it. All I'm going to say at first is, talk lots because if you don't talk that much I'm voting you. The person I hate more than a scummy person is an inactive one that I can't read. I fear what I don't know.
I don't know whether you're supposed to vote someone at this point, so I'm just going to stay neutral and vote nobody until someone sufficiently offends me or puts themselves in a vulnerable place. Don't expect me to pay mercy later on, though. Sometimes I take a resting state to recuperate my thoughts, but don't mistake it as weakness. I'm a cat, that's what cats do, they prowl.
So those who are on teams better fear that I will understand their ties. Don't associate with each other, don't so much as blink an eye to each other out of place, I will catch you. And I will find you.
Be scared.

I wish you luck with lasting longer than others, Cash~ We'll all see how that goes.
First day is usually more a day of talking, getting the feel of each other and seeing how things go from there. We don't have much in the way of clues and it's silly for us to lynch someone on the first day. It gives the Mafia a head-start on killing us (since there's so many more townies than mafia at this point and finding one of them to hang is much harder with no clues and so many suspects) so keeping calm and trying to figure each other out is usually the best course.
Also, you're not alone in not knowing much about GoT. I read the first two books quite a few years ago, but I don't remember much of the story really, bar a few characters and events that really stood out. (Like, whoa, did they ever stand out! >.<; )
That said, I think everyone who has ever played Mafia with me knows what my first day move is, right? The only logical one. :/

Hey CashmereCat, what are the terms of winning this game?
The terms of winning are to make your team win and not suck ass, I realize that. I'm stating that I don't intend to be a pushover, and that regardless of the game's outcome I emerge morally rarefied. I don't side with Liberty's indecision, nor her failure to recognize a lynch as the most optimal route. You can't win as town without lynching, and regardless of the risk lynching presents, I'm willing to confront it head-on. Treat this vote as fully random, and a sign that I am willing to lynch on the first day as part of a team strategy that prioritizes calm-minded aggression over overly-tentative double-mindedness. It ain't personal. Think of it as... positive provocation.

Are you sure?
Dude, past Mafia games speak for me - most of the time when people jump the gun and start lynching on first day we whittle down our chances, especially considering the high chance of losing an important townie. This usually happens because someone gets crazy on the first day and jumps all over the place, demanding lynches left, right and centre. It's stupid, immature play and I won't indulge in it. It has lost us the upper hand more than it has helped.
@Yellow Magic Yes I'm sure, why else would I say it? Besides, maybe you can propose some insight of asking 10-seconds-or-less questions? This isn't a Q&A, it's an open discussion where viewpoints are shared equally. It's not a one-way street, there's 2 lanes and they have opposite ends. Contribute to yours.
@Liberty What's the difference between people lynching on the first day and lynching on the second? The only difference is a death. From my experience, most missteps stem from misunderstandings about the possibilities of roles, and interpretation of death comes into this. I just don't think a passive nolynch is a valid solution, especially considering town's win depends on the onus of those that matter making their vote count.

Because, depending on how many deaths are available during the night - for example, if we have a serial killer in the house - we can be down three townies in one day. We currently have no idea what skills others have so taking a risk on day 1 without the information a night will bring is silly. It may be just one extra death avoided but at least we'll know more on the morrow than we do now.
I think I agree with Liberty, lynching people in the first day is practically attacking blindly to each other, so what we need to do is to calm down and gather enough clues before making an accusation. So this is my vote for today:

Goodness gracious Cashmere, methinks you should take a chill pill. Lynching on the first day will, as the others have already said, will just make more people dead. And those people will like be TOWNIES, not mafia. So uh, let's NOT do that.
Anyway, I'll be voting #NoLynch as well.
