RMNVERSE BATTLEDOME 5 - COMPLETE!
Posts
Y'Darga gazes into his participation ribbon intently. Upon shutting his two black eyes, the third eye dilates and the ribbon rips into shreds from his hands.
"There is no true reward for failure." He thought. "... But I have learned from observing these Carrot creatures, more than I should from such clearly inferior life forms. Mark my words, our early loss was not the end of my people's resurgence. No... it is just the beginning!"
Y'Darga tosses the remaining shreds of his ribbon on the floor, and silently floats retreats to the shadows of the Battledome stadium.

Congrats to the winners! I seriously thought Dude was going to win against sven, but I guess cheaters do win after all!
After a commanding victory in the consolation round, the mysterious shrouded controller of the Squaturian quietly disappears. Who was she? Where was she from? Where did she go? What did she even look like?
...no one will ever really know.
...no one will ever really know.
Oh, um.
Zwiflan cackles with an insane laughter as he moves to the docking bay, followed by several walking mushroom men.
Yeah, foreshadowing, yes.

Well played, Carrots. Well played.
Kona had no idea who sent her the missive, but the proof was in the pages; PSI was never going to let her go. Her entire life was missing before her employment at PSI, just as the CEO had promised. Her mind belonged to them. They should have taken the memories of all they'd done. She knew if she removed the cerebral implants, she'd never get her memories back, but had given up on that. She put the missive in the folds of her coat and went to meet the doctor. Once the cerebral implants were removed, PSI would lose its hold on her.
Sometime later...
The woman woke in a hotel room. She had no idea how she got there. Examining herself, she realized that she had mechanical arms and legs. What was this? Then as she tried to remember, she came to a horrible realization; she had no idea who she was. There was a folder on an end table next to the bed. Opening it, she realized it was a doctor's report. Reading it, a single line stuck in her memory; "During removal, the cerebral implant activated one last time. It is my belief that upon realization that the implant was being removed, PSI used it to wipe the rest of your memory." The doctor went on to explain that her name was Kona Ming and that she was a mercenary working for PSI...whoever PSI was. She realized that if there was a way, she had to recover her memories.
Underneath the file folder was a blue ribbon. She had no idea what it was for. Picking it up and examining it, she noted that "Battledome 5" was embroidered upon it. Thinking it may be a clue to her past life, she put the ribbon in her pocket. It was time to leave. Where she'd go, she didn't know, but she was certain she'd survive. Whoever this PSI was, she was free of it now, and now she'd make them pay. As she got dressed, she found the missive in her coat and read it. She almost wished she hadn't. She found an ample amount of money in the pockets. She'd be able to buy her own ship with these credits (of course, she had to find out if she already had one). First...pizza. She couldn't have even said what it was or why she knew the word, but she knew it was food and she knew she wanted it. She'd get pizza first, and then she'd go after PSI.

...and as the carrots' victory songs echoed through the night, millions of liters of booze flowed through the streets of Titan City. In the course of the celebrations, several districts of the humans' city were flattened and wiped out, but hey, that's not our fault. Humans and their flimsy construction techniques. Oops...there goes the city hall. Nice flames, though.
With the gazillions of cash they make from the deal with the Empire's army, the TUC will undoubtedly become the dominating force in everything illegal throughout the galaxy for the foreseeable future. And no, we can't explain either why TUC-designed police and military robots tend to turn a blind eye on TUC violence and criminal activity. We certainly didn't design them that way. No no no. That was not our plan at all. That would have been unethical.
That being said: Wow. Great fun. When I designed my robot, I didn't even remotely think I'd get that far...my bot's armament was chosen pretty much randomly by sticking on everything that fit onto a Manga Spawn action figure, then buying the stuff that more or less matched the accessories on the action figure - but it turned out to be quite versatile and fun to write strategies for. By all means, let's do this again soon :P
I kind of hoped I'd meet LockeZ's bot some time during the tournament...I would have lost very probably because Kentona's strategy was way more brilliant than anything I could have ever come up with, but writing a pre-battle strategy for three snotty girls vs. three suave, world-wise carrots would have been extremely funny.

I admit I was kind of peeved having to face all of these ridiculously game-breaking builds one after another. I think my drawings helped.

Removing "ly" and "game-breaking"
I would be game for another battledome but not right away. I want to stress though that the lack of structure and hard and fast rules on how these bots and equipment behave and operate is part of the charm. Having things open to interpretation (like energy use or energy shields or even just how big or heavy the bots are) makes for a more interesting battle and tournament.
GG Sven, I Think you earned it, But What my controller thinks of the carrots, well, that is a different matter...

TangledLionX Watched onward as the carrots celebrated their victory...
"Those orange skinned thieves actually did it, they won." He Thought and shook his head...
"I was too close, I was ready to expose their entire operation, I think it was no small coincidence that my Bot's joints locked up just as the Owl's Slow-As-tar robot was ready to strike. I wondered where my Robot Auto-Heal Device went to after I placed it into my vault to protect due to finding out it would be illegal for use."
He smiled a half cocked grin "At least I got my company back by betting the owl would lose within a single round after beating me. Now that I have it though, I think I know what I'm going to do with it..."
He Looked down at his X-Phone, just in time to see a Progress bar Fill up completely. "DATA CRAWLER #2401, DESIGNATION: CARROT PEELER, DEPLOYED AND READY FOR USE." It read. "I WILL find a way to end their syndicate, and Now I know where most rivalries are carried out..."
He then looked strait ahead, and said aloud, "Look out BattleDome, A new regular is in town..."

I Hope to see you Using the carrots more in the future! :D
Also, Dudesoft, If we do have a SMASH-Style Tournament, Can we send in Weapons to use, but have cap of 5? I've got some Ideas for my strat already..

Fantastic flavour, everyone! The final comic is in progress, with sven at the helm. It'll probably be in April we see it. Better late then never!
Next Battledome will start after my hiatus. I have two more planned for 2015, if I have time. First is one I've been sitting on for a while. A Smash Bros style game, though it may not be Fight Fest.
Second will definitely be a third Ultimate Robot Battles. I do enjoy these.
edit: I really hope we see more returning faces. The 'mainstay' cast of Battledome characters is too small! (Not that variety is a bad thing.)

This was a great Battledome! And I may consider participating in the next one when it comes out... ;)

Moira Calloway Epilogue:
That night, I watched the final match from my office. I watched how a trio of simple lowlifes defeated the mighty Huge Mecha, and with that, the only chance of the opponent to crush the Horc Empire. I didn't won the tournament, and my candidature was lost. But at least I still have my job safe...
I realized that my plans of scaling positions to get from being a council member to being a magister, and from being a magister to become President of Titan City, would not be easy. But I wasn't going to give up on the Battledome just for that. No... Now that I discovered the weaknesses of my robot, it was just question of revise... Change... Upgrade... Make my robot more stronger until it can finally be able of crush the competition and win the tournament!
And when my plans are fulfilled, and I have finally set foot in the President's office, nothing will stop me... My time will come, to conquer the Horc Empire, and then, eventually, the whole RMNverse!
It's a promise...

I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the final comic! XD

Also 110% Support for Both Ideas you have for the next ones, The URB Because I want to give Exo-Bot V2.0 A try. And the Smash one? Well, Let's just say TangldlionX has some "Unique Hidden Talents"...
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

You know, given what I actually did with my bots, I probably could've used OMNIMURDEROID-X17-BETA and Peachie, instead of making a new robot and new characters. They've never actually been in a battledome, but they were in the choose-your-own-adventure forum game set in the Space Academy (the same story that resulted in the invention of rocket shades).
On the other hand, the Flapnoggin race might be the best race in the RMNverse.

Yeah, LockeZ, you kill it at making new races. The sharkmen were one thing. Rocket shades were another. Imagine Flapnoggin with rocket shades? Did I just give you a Fight Fest character? Haha...

...Yes.
And I'm now positive that rocket shades were a flapnoggin invention, since they were unable to use jetpacks as commonly worn by other races.

Since I'm new, Can you tell me what the flapnoggin race is? Or point me to some RMNVerse Lore page...

The Flapnoggins were the operators of LockeZ's robot. I think they were just introduced in this battledome.

The RMNverse is all about making up new races and technologies on the spot!
