SCREENSHOT SURVIVAL 20XX

@Kaempfer Yes it is 8-Directional pixel based movement : )
@Punkitt the animation works I think, but maybe play with speeds of frame display. I feel like a floatier and slower shot could be better. Maybe less time before it fires, and more time in the air would make it less jerky!
Cute mechanic though

So, I'm currently working on this dungeon now, which I have yet to test (and I...honestly forget the solution to it). The gimmick here is once you're actually able to come here proper, you get a special item that has X uses in it before it runs out. There's a refill spot, marked by the stars, that are one-time use only and refills the item to full. The ice blocks are what you need to melt (and require this special item too), however once you leave the screen at all and return, the blocks will return (there is always a refill spot in-between these puzzle rooms). In addition, there is ice that forces you in one direction here.
Room #1: Basic room, just to get used to the idea.
Room #2: A bit more complex, but mostly due to needing to go back and forth in order to recharge at the previous recharge station if the player wants to get all the items.
Room #3: The most complex of the rooms. Has several recharge spots, but I forget what the amount of uses the item has is. What's not shown is a couple pixels up at the top is the exit, which has a column of 3 ice blocks (only needs one usage to get through).
It's not the most innovative design, but I couldn't think of anything else for this dungeon as I'm bad at puzzle making (and there isn't honestly a lot of puzzle dungeons in this game at all). In addition to the puzzles, there ARE random encounters that show up too with the dungeon gimmick (Fire and Ice-elemental enemies; Bomb and Grenade, Red Mousse and White Mousse, and Fire Elemental and Ice Elemental, with the Notorious Monster, the Necromancer. The Mousses are immune to physicals, the Elementals heavily resist physicals). I'm debating on their movesets still, and if they should only be damaged by their opposing elements (of course, Mystic can bypass it but probably be at 25% damage, since nothing nullifies Mystic).
A bit lengthier than I'd like to do, but thought I'd share this and see if I can't get some better feedback on these. I tried to keep the maps from being TOO big while keeping the map designs at least a little interesting, but...I don't know...

@Erave, that looks awesome as always! That dialog needs some
It's the characters' gimmick. I actually got the idea from the book "Lord of the Flies" the two twins Sam and Eric actually were referred to as "SamNEric"
Loving your stuff. Graphics have a vibe.

Wrong topic, Versalia. XD

You're drunk. Also, you just gave away your location.

Hey, y'all, it's been a couple of days. What up?

Finished updating my monster graphics (replacing ripped (custom?) weapons with ones of my own design) and got around to making scythe and shield graphics to complete the set. The sword and shield sported by the enemy here are recolors of the ones that the heroes will be using.

Also a snake.

It's been a quiet few days for the screenshot topic! I have been without the internet (except when I've stolen it from friends) for many moons, and have been working on recolours/edits to get away from straight-up rips. Here are some of them.
Here is the FF5 cave recoloured twice (the first is its generic form, the second is the colours I use for a few specific areas):

And here's an overhaul of the earlier FF5 cliffs I was using.

I intend to add a few more minor things to the caves, but I don't want to complicate the aesthetic too much.
edit: I intend to overhaul most of the graphics now that I have a good feeling for how I intend to use them in situ. A very small number will remain unchanged, but the majority will receive a recolour+several edits at the very least.

Those cave recolours are great, Kaempfer. Really nice palettes. I'm less taken with the exterior (cliffs are too golden) but it's more of my personal taste and not really a flaw per se.
It's good that you've committed to editing the rips. It's the least rip users can do to distinguish themselves and their work, IMO.
You're makin' me want to work on my FF5-ish project again, even though I know I shouldn't.

Yeah, the cliffs are very golden. Maybe too golden, but I wanted to go with something bold. They also look extra bright on my phone vs. my computer, so I'm not sure if I'm seeing a strange version of my own stuff. A lot of the other palettes I tried seemed too dull by comparison, though.
I think you'll get used to them quickly when you see them in game!
edit: stay focused!

Considering they're not the brightest thing on the screen (that pile of rubble), I think it's fine.
Like I said, they're not a problem. It's just not the decision I would have made, but then again, I'm not the one making the game, now am I?

No need to get testy.
