SCREENSHOT SURVIVAL 20XX

Pancaek-Looking creepy af. I love it.
Most trees got a dark outline on them but the pine tree doesn't, so it looks out of place. I also don't know what the black spots on the pine tree are representing. I can't tell if that is water or ice, since you went a bit overboard with the highlights, try reducing them a bit. The grass tile would be perfectly functional if you got rid of a few highlights on the top, since right now those highlights make it break the seams and you can tell it's square. Your dirt wall is ok. You could try adding a few more color shades to the bridge to make it look a bit more like wood. Overall it needs a bit more work but it's looking good so far. I reccommend you try to use less pillowshading for the trees, choose a light source and shade based on that.
Thanks for all the encouraging words, guys.
@Dorien Looks nice! Although I do agree with pretty much everything Mirak said. Also I'm not sure how I feel about the black line around the top of the cliffs.

mirak is this what you meant? btw with the daylight and night does it matter where i put the shading exacly?
Pancaek thanks! yeah black isn't the right colour
Got a working Expel(Banish) spell.
I also have a shield that also casts said spell.
And fixed a bug in a Equip command script I'm using. Progress!
This will help player's who wish to go on a solo run. You can warp swarms of enemies at the cost of not getting exp or gold.

The all white background is because I'm doing this in the games test room.
The animation looks much better as a gif than a still.

@slimeborgi if you want to show off your cool animation you can use the neat and easy to use program GIFcam and record your game that way.
I really like the sprites you have on the battlefield so far, and the text is nice and aliased without being hard to read. :) Did there used to be more enemies on the field? Just asking because they're off center.

@DocSaturn Thanks for pointing out that GIFcam is a thing. Somehow I was oblivious to this marvelous tool of the gods.
@Slimeborgi I actually kind of like the white background.

God, this took me like 2-3 hours to do...and it's not even 100% done yet! This is area 2 of Hokkai. That leaves me area 3, area 4, and the final map to do and then I'm done for Hokkai...T-T
EDIT - Map was updated so different image from first one.
Oh wow, GIF cam is a gift from heaven! Thanks DocSaturn
13 MB gif, am I doin it rite?
Finished my custom events system! Now I can do eventy things in my Sphere games almost as easily as it was with RM2K. This means I can get some actual story/gameplay progress.
Next up is some improved enemy AI (for boss fights mainly) and a menu system.

Looking good xeno! You've improved a lot.
East, that is something I would very much like to play!
@Doc Saturn Thanks for the tip. I'll post some gifs later today.
@East That looks very well done, I loved Legacy of Goku!
@Xenomic Intense! Look's like an SNES rpg game.

So uhmm.. I'm pretty new here so sorry if this is the wrong place for this but here's one of the maps I've been working on. It's still incomplete(the other ones are incomplete too) but I desperately need feedback or criticism or whatever. It for some reason, looks messy and bland I think... Need advice T___T..
Better Demonstration of the Expel spell
and I bare bones menu for another game I'll be working on in the summer. Uses the DQ style of battle screen. I'll probably add a Talk feature along with Fight and Flee.

Glad to hear ya'll like that map! It took around 3-4 hours for me to do, using some references here and there (FFIV's Mt. Hobs was surprisingly a very good reference! Primarily used for some things like the slopes which I normally did like you see on the summit, as well as some other things like cliff heights and the one area that is just there towards the middle right. That circular pillar).
So I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I have 2 more storyline bosses before final set of bosses, so that's either 2 or 3 maps total. I can have the first storyline boss be at the start (meaning it'd be almost immediately after the previous boss) and the 2nd one at the end, or I can have the bosses in 2 separate areas, but that means the dungeon is going to be even longer than it's probably going to be already. Also, what other design to use for area 3 (and 4) that would be straightforward with no gimmicks? Hmm...

Love those facesets, slime! Custom I'm guessing?
I know it's super soon for another screenshot from me, but thought I'd share the prototype for area 3 (the boss is fought at the top area, which is required to open the teleporter to area 4, where the next boss is fought in a very short area right before teleporter to final area). See if you can guess what was used as a heavy reference here!

author=Kousuke-shiiAnnnd This actually look a great to me, Kousuke! No real criticism from my view :)So uhmm..
