2008 BEIJING OLYMPIC GAMES

I just watched the Archery. The olympic champion just got beaten by someone who was unranked in the competition. Pretty bad loss.

I think there should be Parkour competition or a trivia competition for those who are not so strong.

I was just think about the parkour competition, that would be so cool. I think if the judges or who ever picks the sports made parkour a olympic game i might actualy try to earn a gold medal. No joke here. 8)

Well, they classify table tennis as an olympic sport so why not a parkour competition. :)

Well, the Beijing Games are at last over. I guess i am happy that it's finally finished and some of my tv programs are finally returning but i will miss a lot of the events. (table tennis) ;)

What did everyone think of the closing ceremony if you bothered to watch it? I didn't get to see it all but i watched some of it. I found it much better than what the opening ceremony was.

Canada did pretty good, considering we don't invest ANY REAL MONEY into amature sports. 18 medals.

We're investing a paltry $36 million in athletes for the 2010 Winter Games - and we're friggin' hosting! Australia (the country most like Canada in terms of population and such) invests over $300 million.

I'm glad we spend so little, as there's more important things to spend money on. The amount Australia spends is sad.

This is the classic Canadian attitude, by the way. We want culture and sports and a military and healthcare and the social state, but we sure the hell aren't going to pay for it!!

I'm all for spending on health care, education, the arts, infrastructure and the like. Olympics, space, military and the like we can let America focus on.
